Furious judge puts Gilgo Beach killer in his place as he scolds ‘despicable, small man’ at sentencing

A disgusted Judge Timothy Mazzei unloaded on Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann before delivering multiple life sentences and telling court officers to “get him out of here.”

Mazzei asked the 6-foot-4 former architect if he had anything to say before he was sentenced in Suffolk County court for killing eight women.

But when the Gilgo Beach killer started speaking from his seat, the judge scolded him to “stand up!”

“There are no words I can say, but I am responsible for what was said today,” Heuermann said.

“The words I would have no meaning and I’m going to leave it there at this time,” he added meekly.

Someone from the crowd yelled “Speak up!” before Mazzei unloaded on the killer.

“Mr. Heurmann, as [Suffolk County District Attorney Ray] Tierney said, I know that you’re sorry you got caught,” Mazzei said, barely containing his disgust with the sicko. “I assume that you’re sorry for what you did to your wife and children.

“Are you a little bit sorry for what you did to these poor innocent women – eight women you strangled to death, at least eight women that we know of,” he added. “Are you at least a little bit sorry about that. Yes!?”

Heuermann answered that he was, then stood emotionless as several stone-faced officers hovered near him.

“You’ve been described as a very big man but you’re a disgusting and despicable small man if you’re a man at all and you’re a coward,” Mazzei told Heuermann then delivered his sentence before adding “Get him out of here.”

Walt Frazier, Patrick Ewing joining Knicks for NYC parade

Walt Frazier and Patrick Ewing will finally get their parade.

The Knicks’ biggest legends, among other team alumni, will travel down the Canyon of Heroes during Thursday morning’s championship parade in lower Manhattan, The Post has learned.

Frazier led the Knicks to two titles more than 50 years ago, but he and his teammates never partook in a parade. In 1970, the Knicks were honored with a ceremony at Gracie Mansion.

In 1973, roughly 2,000 fans joined them at a celebration at City Hall.

During this run that broke the franchise’s 53-year championship drought, the Knicks welcomed back several former players to games at Madison Square Garden, including Bill Bradley, Bernard King, Larry Johnson, Latrell Sprewell, Marcus Camby, Jeremy Lin, among many others, including Ewing, John Starks and Allan Houston, who are each currently employed by the team.

Ewing, who brought the Knicks within one win of a championship in 1994, will now be showered with confetti on Broadway, a quarter-century after that long-awaited moment seemed lost to history.

“It means everything to the city,” Ewing said after the Knicks clinched the championship in San Antonio. “It was a magical run, all the things they were able to accomplish.”

Kate Middleton steps out at Royal Ascot 2026 in sunny yellow dress

Kate Middleton is back at the races, and in full bloom.

The Princess of Wales, 44, returned to Royal Ascot Wednesday after a two-year absence in a daffodil-yellow dress by Roksanda, the sunny hue a nod to Wales’ national flower for the day’s Prince of Wales Stakes. William matched his wife in a yellow freesia boutonnière.

The princess has worn the dress twice before: arriving in Kingston, Jamaica during the couple’s March 2022 Royal Tour of the Caribbean, then at the Wimbledon women’s singles final that July.

A bespoke JT Millinery Pomelina netted straw hat in a coordinating sherbet shade topped off her look.

She finished her Ascot ensemble with nude suede Gianvito Rossi pumps ($850) and an Anya Hindmarch clutch ($655) with a pearl clasp.

For jewelry, the mother of three wore two royal heirlooms: a three-strand pearl bracelet by British jeweler Nigel Milne, originally owned by her late mother-in-law Princess Diana, and diamond chandelier earrings inherited from the late Queen Elizabeth II.

It was Kate’s second yellow look this week. She also stepped out in a butter-colored coat dress by Patrick McDowell for the Order of the Garter service at Windsor on Monday.

Kate skipped last year’s Ascot — pulling out the day before her scheduled appearance — and missed the 2024 event while undergoing cancer treatment. She announced she was in remission in January 2025.

Wednesday’s daffodil yellow is the boldest color across the princess’ Royal Ascot looks to date. She made her debut in white lace Dolce & Gabbana in 2016 and stuck to red, white and blue in the ensuing years, turning heads in a Diana-inspired polka-dot Alessandra Rich dress in 2022.

What to watch for at Kevin Warsh’s first Fed meeting as chairman today

Kevin Warsh is widely expected to hold interest rates steady in his first meeting as Fed chairman Wednesday afternoon – and all eyes are on whether the committee will signal a more hawkish stance, with the possibility of rate hikes.

When President Trump picked Warsh in January — after years of clamoring for the Fed to slash interest rates — the labor market was showing signs of strain and inflation seemed like it could inch back down after the effects of tariffs wore off.

But since then, the Iran war has created the worst-ever energy supply disruption, sending gasoline prices soaring – and pushing inflation in May above 4% for the first time in three years, according to the Consumer Price Index.

Though Trump on Sunday announced a deal with Iran to reopen the vital Strait of Hormuz, analysts have warned it could take months for supplies and prices to stabilize.

Investors and economists will be looking closely at the language in the Fed’s policy note for any indication that it is leaning toward raising rates, instead of lowering them. There will also be intense focus on the “dot plot” charting where members of the Federal Open Market Committee see interest rates headed in the coming years.

It’s possible the official statement could lack any indication about future moves at all – which would be seen as a sign of Warsh’s impact on the central bank. He has long criticized Fed members for speaking publicly about future policy decisions.

“We do not expect any change to interest rates at Wednesday’s meeting, as Warsh is likely going to take his time and monitor how inflation responds to the recent drop in oil prices,” James Demmert, chief investment officer at Main Street Research, said in a note Wednesday.

“While the drop in oil prices helps to ease inflation, it can also spur more economic activity, which could warrant higher interest rates in the future,” Demmert added. “We would not be surprised to see Warsh mention accelerating economic growth and the potential for higher rates going forward, even with the political pressure he is facing to cut rates.”

At Warsh’s swearing-in last month, Trump indicated he would take a hands-off approach to the Fed.

“I want Kevin to be totally independent,” Trump said. “Don’t look at me, don’t look at anybody.”

Meanwhile, Warsh’s predecessor Jerome Powell has kept his seat on the Fed’s governing board – an unusual move for ex-chairmen, who typically leave the bank altogether at the end of their terms at the head of the body.

Powell previously vowed to stay on the board until the Department of Justice’s criminal investigation into him was fully resolved. While the probe was dropped, Powell indicated in April he was sticking around to, in his view, preserve the Fed’s independence. He also promised not to interfere in Warsh’s job.

Bungee jump employee took GoPro camera of student’s body after she fell to her death without a rope: witness

One of the bungee jump instructors charged with killing a student in Brazil was allegedly seen removing a GoPro camera from her body after she was thrown 130 feet to her death, according to a witness.

Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas, 21, paid extra for the camera when she signed up for the Saturday jump from “Skeleton Bridge” in Limeira that ended with her plummeting to her death without a rope.

“I remember … seeing one of the employees taking the [camera] handle off the neck, from the body that was already on the floor, the GoPro camera,” Rafael Goulard, who was waiting to jump after de Freitas, told Brazilian TV station EPTV.

He added that it wasn’t clear if the camera was removed due to “concern[s] about the equipment, to hide evidence, or worrie[s] about the [camera’s] financial value.”

De Freitas paid roughly $35 for the unlicensed rope jump and an additional $30 to carry the small action cam to record a 360-degree video of her during the stunt, according to Brazilian media.

The camera was clearly visible in the victim’s hands as she prepared to be thrown off the bridge, but is still missing, despite a thorough search of the area, according to the Brazilian police’s incident report.

One of the bungee jump instructors allegedly stole the camera from de Freitas’s body.

Three of the instructors at the site, who were filmed in the video throwing de Freitas over the ledge, have been arrested and charged in relation to her death.

Luis Felipe Feliciano Egoroff, 32, Vitor de Freitas Gonçalves, 27, and Maicon Fernandes Cintra, 42, all appeared disoriented and confused following the shocking incident, Goulard said.

“They were in a catatonic state. I don’t know if I don’t know if I don’t understand what they had done or just worried about hiding or running away,” he said.

Three instructors have been charged with the student’s homicide.

Goulard said he saw other employees at the site collecting equipment and rushing them to a nearby car following the death, some of them even changing their clothes.

Two of the three attempted to escape and had to be tracked down with a military helicopter by police.

Goulard said it wasn’t clear which of the three allegedly stole the camera.

None of the three primary suspects could give a clear answer on who was supposed to be in charge during the incident.

The case remains under investigation by the police, who consider the missing GoPro to be a key piece of evidence, according to Brazilian media.

Three other employees were briefly arrested but later released without charge.

Vincent Trocheck switches agents with Rangers star on trade block

As the NHL offseason officially began following the Hurricanes’ Stanley Cup win, the Rangers’ Vincent Trocheck switched his agent, The Post confirmed. TSN first reported the news.

When his longtime agent Steve Reich died last June, Trocheck remained with the same agency, O2K Worldwide Management Group.

Now, the 32-year-old has hired super agent Pat Brisson of CAA as the high-activity portion of the offseason steadily approaches.

Trocheck remains in a sort of Rangers limbo as president and general manager Chris Drury continues to weigh interest and offers from around the NHL for the veteran center, who has been on the trade block since the weeks leading up to last season’s trade deadline.

The Post previously reported that Toronto is among the many interested teams who have inquired about Trocheck.

Although the Wild and the Red Wings were in on Trocheck leading up to the deadline, neither team had inquired again as of earlier this month.

Complete 14-point US-Iran peace deal finally revealed by Trump administration: Read text in full

The secretive US-Iran peace deal was released Wednesday by the White House — three days after it was signed electronically.

A senior White House official read the 14-point US-Iran memorandum of understanding to reporters on a call Wednesday — and it pledges the US will immediately lift its blockade and waive Iranian oil sanctions until a final deal is reached.

Other economic incentives — including the formal removal of sanctions — are saved until after a deal is reached.

The long awaited-release ends days of speculation and spinning on what is included in the plan and if Iran had too generous of a deal.

The text reads as follows:

  1. The United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran and their allies in the current war, by signing this MOU, declare the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon, and undertake from now on not to initiate any war or any military operation against each other, and to refrain from the threat or use of force against each other, and ensuring the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Lebanon. The final deal will confirm the permanent termination of the war on all fronts, including in Lebanon, and other provisions of this paragraph.
  2. The United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran undertake to respect each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and to refrain from interfering in each other’s internal affairs.
  3. The United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran commit to negotiating and achieving the final deal in maximum 60 days expendable with mutual consent.
  4. Immediately upon the signing of this MOU, the United States of America will begin the removal of its naval blockade and any disturbances or impediments against the Islamic Republic of Iran, and will fully end the naval blockade within 30 days. During this period, the traffic of vessels will be in proportion to the numbers of pre-war traffic being restored by the Islamic Republic of Iran. The United States of America further undertakes to remove its forces from the proximity of the Islamic Republic of Iran within 30 days after the final deal.
  5. 5. Upon the signing of this MOU, Islamic Republic of Iran will make arrangements using its best efforts for the safe passage of commercial vessels with no charge for 60 days only from the Persian Gulf to the Sea of Oman, and vice versa, the traffic of commercial vessels will immediately start, and considering the need for removing the technical and military obstacles and demining by the Islamic Republic of Iran will be instated within 30 days. The Islamic Republic of Iran will conduct dialog with the Sultanate of Oman to define the future administration and maritime services in the Strait of Hormuz in discussion with other Persian Gulf or [Gulf] states in line with the applicable international law and the sovereign rights of coastal states of the Strait of Hormuz.
  6. United States of America undertakes with regional partners to develop a definitive, mutually agreed plan with at least USD $300 billion for the reconstruction and economic development of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The mechanism for the implementation of this plan will be finalized as part of a final deal within 60 days. All required licenses, waivers, and permissions needed for the relevant financial transactions will be granted by the United States of America.
  7. The United States of America undertakes to terminate all types of sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran, including the United Nations Security Council resolutions, i.e. a Board of Governors resolutions, and all unilateral US sanctions, primary and secondary, in an agreed upon schedule as part of the final deal. 8. The two parties also agreed to discuss the issue of enrichment and other mutually agreed matters related to the Islamic Republic of Iran’s nuclear needs, based on a satisfactory framework being agreed upon in the final deal. The final deal will confirm the provisions of this paragraph. The United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran acknowledge the critical importance of the nuclear issues above mentioned and express their intention to immediately address these issues in the negotiations in order to achieve mutual agreement on them.
  9. Pending the final deal, the United States of America and Islamic Republic of Iran agree to maintain the status quo. The Islamic Republic of Iran will maintain the current status quo of its nuclear program and the United States of America will not impose any new sanctions and will not deploy additional forces in the region.
  10. The United States of America undertakes that immediately upon the signing of MOU until the termination of sanctions, US Department of Treasury will issue waivers for the export of Iranian crude oil, petroleum products, and derivatives, and all associated services, including banking transactions, insurances, transportation, etc.
  11. The United States of America undertakes to make fully available for use the frozen or restricted funds and assets of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Upon the implementation of this MOU, the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran will mutually agree on the procedures related to the release of these funds during the negotiations. The United States of America undertakes to issue all necessary licenses and authorizations accordingly.
  12. The United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran agree that an executive mechanism will be established to monitor the successful implementation of this MOU and the future compliance of the final deal.
