$2B Las Vegas A’s stadium updates revamp Sin City for MLB era

While many Oakland residents and diehard Athletics fans are still brooding about their franchise heading to Las Vegas, there’s no doubt that the team’s new stadium in Sin City is going to be much more spectacular than their previous.

In fact, recent updates to the stadium’s construction show that things are moving along well, and the Athletics’ future ballpark is already making its impression on the Las Vegas Strip’s skyline felt.

A June 23 article from Mick Akers of the Las Vegas Review-Journal conveyed that the steel framing of the $2 billion ballpark has reached the third and fourth levels, which makes the field tall enough to become visible on the city’s skyline.

For many Las Vegas residents, seeing this update has likely made the stadium feel like more of a reality, which has hopefully sparked more excitement about the Athletics’ eventual arrival.

Akers also added that, “concourse between the two ends of the seating section” has been completed for over a month, plus the “first roof truss arch” has been in place for about two weeks.

This roof is what will ultimately be the most noticeable aspect of the field when it comes to the Las Vegas Strip skyline.

The roof’s second truss is on track to be installed in July, and the second arch should be completed after that, according to A’s President Marc Badain.

The entire stadium is still on track to be completed by February 29, 2028.

Hopefully that’s enough time for any bitter A’s fans to stir up some excitement about getting to watch their franchise competing in a world-class ballpark in one of the world’s most entertaining cities.
