A beauty reporter’s guide to the best in K-beauty, starting at $18

K-beauty isn’t a trend anymore — it’s the skincare rabbit hole I happily fell into and never climbed out of.

It sounds like everyone and their mother is obsessed with K-beauty now, but the category has earned its staying power for a reason. As a beauty reporter, I try beauty from every origin: American-made formulas, argan oils from the Caribbean, you name it.

Yet without fail, K-beauty is my golden child.

There’s a certain level of innovation, texture obsession and skin-first philosophy that keeps pulling me back, even when trends shift elsewhere.

Almost a year ago, I flew to South Korea and essentially received a full education in what’s worth it and what isn’t when it comes to Korean skincare. Store shelves there are overwhelming in the best way, but also incredibly clarifying once you start to understand which ingredients actually deliver and which products are more hype than substance. That trip changed the way I shop entirely, especially when I’m scrolling Amazon looking for real standouts instead of viral noise.

Now, all of my friends come to me asking what the best sheet mask is, what actually works for hydration and what’s worth adding to an already overflowing skincare routine. I take a certain pride in being their unofficial K-beauty hotline, introducing them to staples like Biodance, Anua, Medicube and all of the products sitting pretty on my bathroom counter. If it’s made its way into my daily rotation, chances are it’s already been vetted through both professional curiosity and a very real obsession.

Ahead, find the insider edit to all of the products I’ve *actually* tried and can’t stop yapping about. You may even see some of these beauty products on sale before Amazon Prime Day, so shop them before the masses come to the e-checkout line.

A gem worth buying. I love how instantly cooling this feels under my eyes, especially on mornings when I look puffy. It absorbs so fast that I never have to worry about heaviness before makeup.
