Shri Channabasaveshwar College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Bhalki, celebrated the 78th International Chartered Accountants (CA) Day and inaugurated the fifth batch of its CA Foundation Course on Wednesday.
The programme was organised by the Department of Commerce in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) under the banner of SVE Society at the college seminar hall. The event was held under the theme, “Legacy of Trust”.
Inaugurating the programme, SVE Society administrator Ankush Dhole described Chartered Accountants as the backbone of financial transparency, ethical governance and the nation’s economic development.
He urged students to pursue the profession with dedication and integrity and appreciated the Department of Commerce for promoting professional education.
Principal Santoshkumar S. Teerthe, who presided over the function, congratulated the department for organising the programme and encouraged students to achieve success through discipline, consistency and hard work.
Speaking on the occasion, CA Coordinator Sandeep Raj highlighted the significance of International CA Day, observed every year on July 1 to commemorate the establishment of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) in 1949.
He said that Chartered Accountants play a vital role in auditing, taxation, financial management, entrepreneurship and corporate governance making significant contributions to the country’s economy.
He also reviewed the progress of the college’s CA Foundation Course, introduced in 2023. Four batches have successfully completed the programme so far, with eight students clearing the CA Foundation examination and pursuing the CA Intermediate course.
One student has also qualified for the CA Final level, he said and added that the inauguration of the fifth batch marked another milestone in the institution’s efforts to prepare aspiring Chartered Accountants.
Shivakumar J. Kamble, Akshata Patil, Wasina Khan, Nagnath Kote and other faculty members, non-teaching staff and students were present.
