Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles pizzeria leaves fans shocked by high prices

Fans of the iconic “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” will need to shell out some serious cash to chow down at the first official franchise pizzeria in Santa Monica, with prices outraging many.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pizzeria (1444 Third Street Promenade Santa Monica, CA 90401) opened with a soft launch last week, ahead of the grand opening on Saturday, June 20.

The well-known digital creator Foodie Gang Capo got a sneak peek of the restaurant during the soft opening, calling the pizza “legit” on Reddit, though one image that got many fans’ attention.

He posted the official menu — which revealed outlandish prices that ranged from $6.50 to $9 for a single slice — and $39 to $54 for a whole pie.

The Cowabunga Cheese ($6.50 slice/$39 pie) is the most affordable, followed by Raphael’s Pepperoni Bash ($7.50 slice/$45 pie).

Four pies — Shredder’s Revenge, TCRI, Mutagen Mushroom and Green Machine Supreme — cost $8.50 per slice and $51 for a whole pie, but those aren’t even the most expensive.

The last two offerings – Splinter’s Supreme and Rocksteady’s Meat Smash – top out at $9 per slice and a whopping $54 for a whole pie.

Those who want to Build Your Own Pizza starts at $39, with a choice of red or white sauce, with additional meats costing $6 each, veggies $3 and garnish $1.50 each.

The shop also sells a variety of merchandise, with t-shirts ranging from $38 to $50, hats going for $36, pins for $12, sweaters for $70, lanyards for $18, skateboard decks for $80 and totes ranging from $32 to $36.

The menu image spread through social media, with one X user dubbed @GrouchyGodzilla stating, “Found a picture of the menu for the new TMNT Pizzeria online and yeah it’s expensive.”

He added, “I knew it would be pricey, but I wasn’t expecting $50 for a whole pizza. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still excited to check it out but think I’ll just get one slice.”

Another X user – @KineticNinjaTTV – responded to TMNT Pizzeria co-founder Andy Nguyen’s tweet, adding, “lol $50 for some of the most dog s—t looking pizza I’ve ever seen ya I don’t think you’ll be having very many returning customers chief.”

Others took to FoodieGang’s Reddit post to bash the high prices, including solidpeyo, who said, “Yeah the price of that pizza is too much.”

RKO_out_of_no_where added, “$50 for a damn pizza?! They’re on f—n’ drugs. I 100% wanted to go until I saw its $40 for a cheese pizza. Gtfo.”

Since this is officially licensed by Paramount, others mentioned that the licensing fees the pizzeria pays to Paramount and Nickelodeon likely factor into the price.

Another Redditor – iTZBLaSToFFTiMe – added, “I work at a pizza parlor where we buy all Italian-imported products, so our pizzas are a bit pricey (in the $22-26) range, this is blatant highway robbery, holy H—l.

Since the Turtles franchise has always been based in New York City, others were baffled why this first official TMNT Pizzeria is based in Los Angeles at all. Group W. Productions/ Courtesy: Everett Collection.

The Redditor added, “Did they really need to make it TMNT-Themed because you’re paying for them to pay for that license. Yikes.”

“You open a TMNT pizza store…. and you choose LA of all places?” said Redditor Ecstatic_Teaching906.

Others took to one of one of the TMNT Pizzeria’s Instagram post where they showed numerous people eating the pies, some who bashed the price, and others who questioned whether it had any cheese.

“50 dollars a pizza isn’t worth it. TMNT wouldn’t eat that pizza,” said Instagram user ro_ro_ro_your_boats.

Why is Trump furious with Netanyahu over strikes on Lebanon?

The BBC’s State Department correspondent Tom Bateman looks at US President Donald Trump’s unusually sharp criticism of Israel and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after Israeli strikes on Beirut.

Trump described the strikes as “vicious,” questioned Israel’s use of force, and even suggested Syria could handle Hezbollah with fewer civilian casualties.

Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler atop the golf world with a field in awe behind them

The two players do it so differently, and yet they have gotten to — and stayed at — the same place.

The top.

The ingredients creating their stark contrast make watching Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy fascinating and draw you to them.

Today’s “Big Two’’ in golf — Scheffler, ranked No. 1 in the world, and No. 2 McIlroy — own the sport right now. Between the two of them, they’ve accounted for five of the past 10 major championships, including four of the last six entering this week’s U.S. Open at Shinnecock.

In golf, there has been a good share of eras with two or three players dominating the sport at different times. Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer were the most famous duo. More recently, it was Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson.

Now, the separation is clear-cut: It’s Scottie and Rory — and then the rest.

“Those guys are at the top of the game at the moment, at the pinnacle, and it’s up to the rest of us to look at and pull ourselves forward,” Tommy Fleetwood told The Post recently. “It’s an amazing time and opportunity to be at this point in the game — whether you’re world No. 3 or No. 50 or No. 100.’’

Ben Griffin, who’s emerged as one of the best players in the game the past two years, said Scheffler “seems to have a massive gap and Rory’s getting his gap even bigger’’ in relation to the rest of the field.

“Scottie right now is doing exactly what Tiger did in his career,’’ Griffin told The Post. “Scottie has a longer career ahead of him. I’m sure he’s going to be right there with the same kind of numbers as Tiger.

“With Scottie, his competitive drive is what impresses me most, and what impresses me most about Rory is how physically talented he is. They’re different. Scottie doesn’t necessarily have the golf swing that everyone admires and wants to replicate. Rory kind of does. Rory is able to use that when he’s playing really well to just overpower golf courses, be super aggressive, reach all the par 5s, and beat other guys when he’s really on.

“Scottie is more of a competitor. He has that competitive edge where it doesn’t matter what type of game he brings to the course, he’s gonna figure it out and make do with what he’s got and just try to get it in the hole. His competitive edge kind of belies the outward personality we see in him, because he’s just a flatline, chill guy.”

Fleetwood and other players speak of “superpowers” possessed by Scheffler, still just 29, and McIlroy, 37.

“For Rory, it’s his longevity and his power,’’ Fleetwood said. “For Scottie, it’s his relentlessness in the way he plays and his attitude. He can play just beautiful golf — the best golf you can imagine. But his relentlessness to continue to find different ways, all the time, to be right there at the very end of a tournament. He’s always there.’’

Another player who has great perspective on the “Big Two’’ and who’s been on a bender the past year and a half is Chris Gotterup.

He stared down McIlroy to win the Scottish Open last July and, in February, he outplayed Scheffler while paired with him and won the WM Phoenix Open.

“I played with Scottie in Phoenix this year, and in the first round he’d probably say he did not play good,’’ Gotterup told The Post. “And then you look up on Sunday and he’s tied for second. His ability to kind of dig it out of the ground each week is amazing. We all don’t have our best weeks, but his worst weeks tend to be pretty good — better than most. His worst weeks tend to be other people’s good weeks. I think that’s something all of us kind of appreciate.

“He doesn’t miss cuts, and when he makes the cut he finishes top 10. He’s just so consistent. And I appreciate his off-the-course stuff, too — he’s very diligent in his routine. He knows what he knows, and he sticks to it, and it’s gotten him to where he is. And he’s a great guy to hang out with. You’ve got to be a bit of a maniac and super competitive to be out here and to be the best in the world, but he’s very good at turning it off and turning it on. It’s very cool to be around him and to see it up close.’’

Like most, Gotterup marvels at McIlroy’s physical talent. Having moved to South Florida and joined The Bear’s Club, where McIlroy plays, he’s gotten a close-up view of him.

“He just does stuff with a golf ball that not a lot of people can do,’’ Gotterup said. “He’s one of the guys that, when he’s on, he seems unbeatable. Getting up close in person — in Scotland last year — the way he drives it and the way he hits his irons, it just looks like nothing is ever going to touch it. It’s impressive. And it’s impressive to do it for as long as he’s done it.’’

Sean Foley, one of the most prominent swing coaches in the game who once coached Tiger Woods, paid high compliments to Scheffler because his run of dominance has been taking place against a deeper pool of talent than the greats before him.

“When Tiger hit the tour in ’97 outworking everybody, he was just so seismically different, better at every skill set,’’ Foley told The Post. “How many people could beat Jack in his prime? Maybe five, seven? Certainly, under 10. Tiger? Maybe 12 legitimately. Scottie now? Probably 40 or 50.

“No one, to me, is more gifted or more impressive to watch than Rory when he’s on. But Scottie just showing up every day and never messing up, it’s so clinical. It’s like Nicklaus how Scottie plays. He’s as long as almost anybody, a super-straight iron play. Elite. But he’s so not flashy. Nobody would think he’s that long off the tee unless you’re in the game and watching it. And, to be the best iron player of his generation, but keep it in play so often at, like, 180 (mph) ball speed … that’s extraordinary. …

“With Rory, he physically just looks different. He looks like he’s mashing. Rory at 5-foot-9 is just mind-boggling. As soon as you get taller, you have more time to create speed.

A smiling Scottie Scheffler talks to reporters after his U.S. Open practice round on June 16, 2026. Getty Images

“Rory is like a wide receiver running a 4.2 [in the 40] with great hands. You can play in the NFL if you run a 4.5 with great hands and perfect routes. But if you’ve got 4.2 with great hands, you can always have a job. Rory is physically just on another level. He’s one of the greatest drivers ever. It’s because he generates elite speed in a body you wouldn’t expect it from.”

Lucas Glover, the 2009 U.S. Open champion, is a veteran whose career has bridged the gap from Woods late in his career to Scheffler and McIlroy now.

“For a long time with Tiger, if he was in the field everybody was playing for second,’’ Glover told The Post. “That’s how we felt. Especially me as a 24-, 25-, 26-year-old when he was doing his thing. Scottie, the run he’s on, and Rory, the run he’s on, they’re playing some unbelievable golf. I don’t know that we’ll see a run like Tiger made ever again. But Scottie’s right there.”

Glover, like most everyone else who speaks about Scheffler, gushed about him.

“I’ve said this for a couple of years now, that I am so impressed with his humility,’’ Glover said. “All he cares about is playing good golf and taking care of his family. He’s an awesome dad. He’s an awesome guy. But when it’s time to play, he wants to beat everybody by 20 [shots]. And he does it in the most humble, chill way.“There’s a drive there that I don’t think you can compare. He’s extremely driven to just get better, play better, be better. His humility and the way he handles himself is so attractive.’’

Glover called McIlroy “physically a beast,’’ and praised him because he’s “changed with the times — hitting it farther, reshaping his body, doing all the things that need to be done now so he can play until he’s old, like me.

“His putting has obviously improved immensely. His short game around the greens is so underrated. Nobody ever talks about how good he is around the greens. They’ll talk about his driving. I don’t think he gets enough credit for what he does around the greens.’’

Glover offered a keen perspective explaining the difference between the Woods era of dominance and what we’re experiencing with Scheffler and McIlroy.

“Scottie and Rory know it, but they don’t play into it,’’ Glover said of how good they are. “Tiger knew it. Jack knew it. Those guys knew it and they used it. Scottie and Rory are just good dudes. Really good dudes. There was an intensity around Tiger, and almost everybody was intimidated. He liked it that way.”

Gary Woodland, the 2019 U.S. Open winner, plays a lot of practice rounds with Scheffler and has become close friends with him. He said he gleans everything he can from him “and I don’t take it for granted.’’

“His bad days are great days,’’ Woodland told The Post. “That’s what Tiger was so good at, too. When Tiger played bad, he still played well. And that’s hard to do. You look up and down this range and there are a lot of studs out here.

“Scottie does it week in and week out. What impresses me the most is he does it on every type of golf course. … How hard is it to follow up good rounds? He’s following up wins with wins.

“But he doesn’t do it in the dominating, flashy way Tiger did. I’m not comparing the two. It’s completely different. Tiger made it look awesome. Scottie probably gets taken for granted sometimes because he’s not flashy, he’s just right there in front of you, doing it the way you’re supposed to do it. You could almost say he bores you to death with how well he plays.’’

Woodland, like many players, has an appreciation for McIlroy’s staying power.

“I appreciate the longevity of how Rory’s done it,’’ Woodland said. “He came out so quickly at a young age and dominated in a fashion where we all thought he was going to win 100 majors. And then he had his little dry spell. And to live with that every day. You saw the relief when he won last year at Augusta. He just went down to the ground in pure relief. You felt that. And then to follow it up this year with winning the Masters again … ’’

Jordan Spieth is a Texan like Scheffler, having played with him since they were young, and he knows him as well as anyone outside of Scheffler’s family.

“I think it’s two things with Scottie,’’ Spieth told The Post. “One, it’s a level of consistency. Doing what he does over and over again, how similar he does it, how well he does it as a ball-striker. You can’t teach how he does it. You obviously couldn’t really teach Rory’s either. But Rory’s swing is a little closer to being technically sound.

“Scottie knows what he does well and doesn’t try to change it based on what anybody says. He has full control of his swing and his game. It’s that thing some of these legends talk about: ‘When you swing your swing, you own your swing.’ When you get to that, you can push it to that level. That’s what he’s done. Both of them have done that, but they’re so different.

“The other thing with Scottie is that mentally, he seems unflappable. Whether we’re playing at home or on the road or he’s in the Sunday of a major, he’s the same. The only difference in his measured heart rate is that he’s just a little chirpier. He doesn’t show that side [in public]. Nothing seems to change, which means mentally he’s got to be so sound. He doesn’t walk faster, his mannerisms aren’t different.’’

Spieth noted the contrast in McIlroy’ personality on the golf course, saying, “You can tell if Rory is playing well because he’s got the stride, right?

“With Scottie, you wouldn’t know if he was shooting a million. And how often is he ever shooting a million?’’

Keegan Bradley, as the 2025 Ryder Cup captain, has gotten to know Scheffler well.

“What’s different about Scottie is he’s a really normal guy,’’ Bradley told The Post. “Most of the time when I’ve met dominant athletes, they have a very dominant personality. Scottie certainly has that inside the ropes, but when he leaves the ropes, he’s a normal guy, genuinely a great person. He’s somebody I’d love my boys to grow up to be like.

“At the Ryder Cup, he obviously didn’t have his best week, but he cared more about how the other guys were doing than anything else. When the weight of the world was on his shoulders, he was only asking, ‘What can I do to help the other guys?’’’

Rory?

“The shots he hits are the best things I’ve ever seen,’’ Bradley said. “It seems like something out of an AI simulator. When he’s walking down the fairway with that rhythm and balance, he’s just really tough to beat.

“For me, it’s been really cool being in Rory’s generation — having a player in my generation winning the Grand Slam. With Tiger, though, it was different — bigger and grander. He had an aura. He transcended golf into something different entirely.

“Playing with Tiger in the final group when he had that red and black on … that was different. These guys are the closest to that of anybody else, but it’s not quite the same.’’

Breece Hall: ‘Hungry’ Jets could beat expectations

Breece Hall has higher expectations for the 2026 Jets than many of the outside pundits, and he thinks these Jets could shock some people.

“Everybody has a common goal, we’re hungry,” Hall said Tuesday after the team’s first minicamp practice. “We’re going to try to surprise everybody this year.”

ESPN recently ranked the Jets 31st in the NFL in its Football Power Index, an analytics rating system. There are not many people outside of Jets fans predicting a big year from the Jets in Aaron Glenn’s second season.

But Hall, who signed a three-year extension with the Jets this spring, likes what he has seen so far from his team.

“With guys like me, Garrett [Wilson] and Geno [Smith], our standard is we’re expected to be some of the best at our positions and we expect to be some of the best at our positions,” Hall said. “As a team we’re spilling that into the team like we want to be one of the best. We want to be good regardless of this being our first year with the quarterback, the team, whatever the case may be.”

Hall pointed out that the defense has been playing hard even in walk-throughs.

“This is definitely different from what we’ve had in the past,” Hall said.

The highlight of Tuesday’s practice was a red-zone touchdown pass from Smith to Adonai Mitchell in the back of the end zone. Smith placed the ball where only Mitchell could grab it and Mitchell did a toe tap to stay in bounds.

Smith and Mitchell have made a lot of highlight plays this spring and seem to have good chemistry.

“I’m really excited about AD,” Smith said. “I think he’s going to be a special player for a long time. He’s obviously got the talent. What people might not see is the way that he works, the way that he studies, just the type of teammate that he is. He’s a great teammate. I think that goes a long way.”

Former Jets coach Rex Ryan was at practice Tuesday. Ryan’s son, Seth, is the team’s passing game coordinator. … The Jets signed fourth-round pick DT Darrell Jackson and they now have all of their draft picks under contract.

Rookie QB Cade Klubnik (back) did not practice but was throwing on the side. Glenn said it was the team being cautious and he thinks Klubnik will practice later this week.

The team’s three-day minicamp concludes Thursday.

Breakthrough on serial killer ‘The Doodler’ after string of murders of gay men: investigator

A Bay Area cold case chief investigator said he thinks he’s identified the 1970s killer of six gay men known as “The Doodler,” and believes the man could still be arrested.

Daniel Cunningham, the leader of San Francisco’s Police Department’s cold case unit told the San Francisco Standard he believes the suspected serial killer is living in East Bay as the department offers $250,000 for tips leading to his arrest fifty years later.

Police believe at least six gay men were killed by “The Doodler” in or near Ocean Beach in the 1970s.

The victims, Warren Andrews, Frederick Capin, Gerald Cavanaugh, Klaus Christmann, Harald Gullberg and Joseph Stevens were killed by the suspected serial killer between 1974 and 1975.

A Bay Area cold case chief inspector said he thinks he’s identified the 1970s killer of six gay men known as “The Doodler.” AP

Investigators named the suspect after discovering the killer lured his victims by promising to sketch them at gay bars and then inviting them to isolated places for a hookup where he would stab them in “rage killings,” the Standard reported.

As part of the investigation, police found two more victims who survived a stabbing by “The Doodler” in 1975 at the Fox Plaza apartment where they lived.

One of the victims told police the suspect-who said he was a cartoonist-was doodling while conversing with him in a late-night diner. The victim ended up inviting the suspect back to his apartment where he was stabbed, per SFPD

The victim never returned to his apartment. He and other surviving victims were able to give a description to police that led to a forensic sketch of the suspect that was developed in 1975.

“Investigators believed all the victims were targeted because they were gay, white adult males, and the victims met the suspect shortly before they were killed in isolated coastal locations,” police said in a recent statement to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Cunningham said he believes the suspected serial killer is living in East Bay as the department offers $250,000 for tips leading to his arrest fifty years later.  Alexander Davidovich – stock.adobe.com

Victims described the alleged attacker as a handsome black man in his 20’s. One of the survivors identified his attacker and police brought a man in for questioning.

“Once this person was made aware that they were a suspect in these murders, the murders stopped,” Cunningham told the outlet.

Now, fifty years later, police said the same man that was questioned in 1975 is still a person of interest in the multiple killings. Police believe the prime suspect is still alive, in his 70s and living in the East Bay.

Cunningham believes he spoke to this suspected killer when he reopened the case in 2018 and brought him in for questioning. Sometime later, the two men once again were face to face on an unrelated case.

Police believe at least six gay caucasian men were killed by the person known as “The Doodler” in or near Ocean Beach in the 1970s. auseklis – stock.adobe.com

“He came out of his residence and looked at me, recognized me,” Cunningham said.

He said the two made eye contact and he’s never seen the person again.

“I can tell you for sure, I feel pretty confident that he is one and the same person who attacked two men at the Fox Plaza,” the investigator told the outlet.

In 2023, SFPD announced it had increased the reward for information leading to The Doodler’s arrest from $200,000 to $250,000, the maximum the department can offer.

The California Post reached out to the department for further comment.

CPUC supplier diversity program shapes utility contracting in California

California Democrats have embraced a new form of favoritism: contracts for businesses that are state-certified as being owned by LGBTQ+ individuals.

The scheme operates through the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), which regulates privately owned utility companies.

In 1986, Gov. George Deukmejian signed Assembly Bill 3678,which required certain CPUC-regulated utilities to submit annual “plans” for buying goods and services from female- and minority-owned companies. Two years later, CPUC created its “Supplier Diversity Program,” which would enforce the law and set contracting “goals” for large utilities.

Under a series of Democratic governors, the program has expanded to include gay-owned businesses. In September 2014, then-Gov. Jerry Brown signed legislation requiring CPUC to recognize “LGBT-owned businesses” as eligible for supplier-diversity benefits.

Five years later, Gov. Gavin Newsom expanded the program, “encouraging” other companies involved in the energy sector to award contracts to gay-owned firms.

In the years that followed, CPUC faced activist pressure as it implemented the LGBTQ+ expansion. BuildOUT California, a since-rebranded LGBT building-industry organization, sent a letter to the commission arguing that “homophobia” existed within “the ranks of the utility companies.” The state’s legislative LGBTQ caucus suggested in a 2021 letter that even considering lower procurement targets was “an insult to the LGBTQ+ community.”

By 2022, CPUC had fully implemented the expansion. In practice, this meant establishing a “goal” for utility companies with annual revenues exceeding $25 million to buy things from state-certified LGBTQ+ businesses: 0.5% of procurement in 2022; 1% in 2023; and 1.5% in 2024 and beyond.

This scheme raises an obvious question: How does a business qualify as officially gay?

Paperwork. Supplier Clearinghouse, a group that certifies firms for the CPUC program, features a list of qualifications linked on its website. Applicants can secure certification by providing a letter from an “LGBT organization” attesting to their sexual preferences; proof that a newspaper identified them as “LGBT”; or three letters from “personal contacts” written “on company letterhead” attesting to their homosexual orientation. Corporate officials who “falsely represent” their business as gay face up to a year in county jail.

Supplier Clearinghouse also accepts gay-certification letters from the National LGBTQ+ & Allied Chamber of Commerce. The chamber has its own list of accepted documents, including human resources complaints or police records claiming LGBT discrimination. As NGLCC states on its website, “Certification is a journey, not a destination.”

Five years later, Gov. Gavin Newsom expanded the program, “encouraging” other companies involved in the energy sector to award contracts to gay-owned firms. Getty Images

LGBT-owned companies in California play other roles. In 2022, San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) spent $8.6 million, or 0.36% of procurement, on LGBTQ+ businesses, apparently including one that produced a training video on supplier diversity. “Never fear when your Ambassador for Excellence is here,” an animated character says in the video. “I can show you exactly how to source diverse vendors.”

Other certified LGBTQ+ businesses in California include a sign-language interpreter, a kombucha maker, and a “coaching” firm whose services include a “series” to help people “manage” their feelings about “[t]he latest election cycle.”

In California, preferential public contracting is technically illegal. In 1996, voters approved Proposition 209, which banned the state from granting preferential treatment based on race, sex, or ethnicity in public employment, education, and contracting. More than two decades later, in 2020, voters rejected an effort to repeal the ban.

CPUC’s arm-twisting regulations violate the spirit of the law. The commission lists several specific “goals” for utilities’ contracting rates: 15% to minority-owned firms; 5% to women-owned firms; 1.5% to disabled-veteran-owned firms; and, most recently, 1.5% to LGBT-owned firms.

CPUC claims that these goals are not a “requirement” or “quota.” In practice, however, the agency cajoles utilities into compliance by requiring them to collect extensive demographic data, submit detailed annual reports, list their plans for increasing procurement from favored groups, and explain “any circumstances that may have resulted in not meeting” their procurement “goals.”

Despite the commission’s efforts, however, utilities and businesses don’t seem interested in LGBTQ+ certification. Large utilities’ procurement with LGBTQ+ businesses decreased by 5% in 2024. Supplier Clearinghouse lists 3,750 Minority Business Enterprises, but only 451 firms certified as LGBTQ+.

CPUC did not respond to our request for comment by deadline. Dexon Dee – stock.adobe.com

CPUC did not respond to our request for comment by deadline.

The state imposed these rules based on the view that government spending should not merely purchase goods and services, but should also engineer social outcomes. Under this framework, buying a hammer from a firm owned by a black transgender lesbian has more social value than buying the same hammer from a firm owned by a straight white man.

But Californians don’t need an energy system determined by sexual orientation; they need an energy system that works. Utility regulators should be in the business of regulating utilities, not verifying contractors’ sexual preferences.

Companies should award contracts based on competence, quality, and cost — not the sexuality of the business owners.

UC Berkeley camp staffer arrested for alleged sexual assault of 11-year-old

A UC Berkeley camp counselor accused of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl while she slept in a campus dormitory has been slapped with eight felony charges, authorities said.

Quaylin Wesley, 27, a former youth basketball trainer, substitute teacher and Cal graduate, was arrested after the alleged attack during a summer camp hosted at the university on Saturday.

According to The Scanner, the girl was in a bed in a UC Berkeley residence hall when Wesley — who was serving as an overnight counselor — allegedly fondled her while she pretended to be asleep.

The suspect fled the room when one of the girl’s roommates rolled over in bed, but allegedly returned multiple times and attempted to assault her again.

The child eventually tried to wake her roommates, ran into a bathroom and alerted another camp counselor, according to the report.

UC Berkeley declined to identify the camp or its location, citing the victim’s age and the ongoing investigation.

University police first received a report around 1:15 a.m. of an attempted sexual assault inside a residence hall, according to a WarnMe emergency notification. The incident was formally reported to officers at about 2 a.m.

After investigating, UC Berkeley police arrested Wesley and booked him into Alameda County jail.

“The incident was initially reported to UCPD as an attempted sexual assault in a residence hall. Through subsequent investigation, UCPD determined that the incident was a completed sexual assault, rather than an attempted one,” a follow-up WarnMe message stated.

Wesley graduated from UC Berkeley in 2021 with a degree in social welfare.

George Pickens gets candid about playing on Cowboys franchise tag

Pickens will play.

After not coming to an agreement on a long-term contract this offseason, Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens was signed to the franchise tag for a one-year, $27.5 million prove-it deal in April. And while there was some skepticism that he might ask for a trade or sit out practices, that is not the case.

Pickens told reporters on Tuesday that he will be attending all mandatory practices with the Cowboys.

The 25-year-old wideout added that he’s not upset about receiving the franchise tag instead of a long-term deal and will not be holding out of training camp.

Pickens didn’t show up at voluntary workouts but told reporters Tuesday that it was not his choice, stating he was following the advice of his agent.

The playmaker is coming off his best season in the NFL after recording 1,429 yards and scoring nine touchdowns to get picked for his first Pro Bowl. Last year was Pickens’ first in Dallas after being traded from the Steelers for third- and fifth-round picks.

Now, Pickens will have some monetary incentives to perform at a high level again next season, given the franchise tag.

But the Cowboys receiver provided the media with a different motivation that will be at the forefront of his mind during the 2026 season.

“What’s important to me is winning,” Pickens said. “Like I said from the beginning, I always wanna bring a Super Bowl to a group of guys that never had that feeling. That’s really the most important part to me,” Pickens said.

Both players and fans in Dallas would be elated if Pickens could become an integral part of a Super Bowl run. The Cowboys have not been to the Super Bowl since winning it all in 1995.

Pickens remains a part of one of the best 1-2 punch receiving duos in the NFL. He and CeeDee Lamb both had more than 1,000 yards last season to give quarterback Dak Prescott elite weapons.

What held the Cowboys back was the defense, which gave up the third-most yards per game in the league. The offense, in contrast, boasted 392 yards per game, No. 2 in the NFL.

The team is looking to return to the playoffs for the first time since 2023 in an NFC East that has seen many changes this offseason.

Tom Izzo furious over Michigan State leadership after president, AD exit

Tom Izzo is “disgusted” by the administrative drama at Michigan State.

The storied college basketball coach commented on the on-campus turmoil that led to the recent departure of the university’s president and athletic director.

“I can’t stand what’s going on,” the longtime MSU men’s basketball coach told reporters. “I’ve had it. This is self-inflicted. We just lost the best president to ever be here, maybe. One of the best.

“I’m very upset about it, and I’m sick of it.”

Michigan State’s president, Kevin Guskiewicz, left for a job at Clemson after just two years with the Spartans. He cited clashes and unrest within the board of trustees as a reason for the departure.

“At times, too much energy has been spent revisiting past conflicts and internal disagreements rather than focusing collectively on the opportunities and aspirations ahead of us,” Guskiewicz wrote in a letter in May.

Two weeks later, Michigan State athletic director J Batt also left in a lateral move to Kentucky.

Izzo, who has led the Michigan State men’s basketball team since 1995 after 12 years as an assistant at the school, called for Michigan State’s large alumni base to “start rallying together.”

“What happened with our president is ridiculous,” Izzo said. “He said it, we know the reasons, and I’m ashamed and disgusted, hurt.

“Spartan Nation better stand up, all 600,000 of them.”

Guskiewicz will remain in East Lansing until an interim president or permanent replacement is found. He will also work on an interim basis for Batt before he leaves for Clemson.

Michigan State is now looking for its fourth athletic director since 2021 and its fourth president since ’22.

“There’s other dominoes that get affected when things go wrong like that,” Izzo said. “I’m very upset about it, and I’m sick of it.”

New homeowner discovers 3 skeletal human remains inside CT house purchased ‘as is’ at foreclosure auction

A homeowner discovered the skeletal remains of three people during a first look inside their new Connecticut residence they purchased at a foreclosure auction on Sunday.

The horrified resident called 911 just before 5 p.m. on Sunday reporting the human remains inside the Burlington, Connecticut home, which they purchased “as is” on June 6, according to the Connecticut State Police.

The state’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is still working on identifying the three deceased and possible causes of death — while others try to track down the former homeowners.

Paul Cash and Sally Anne Cash purchased the home in September 2019 for $535,000. They took a $385,000 mortgage out on the property, but it’s unclear when, according to town records obtained by CT Insider.

The Cashes defaulted on their $3,225 mortgage payments in December 2024 and January 2025. Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing initiated a foreclosure sometime in the first half of 2025, the outlet reported.

Connecticut Marshal Grant Carragher told the outlet that he attempted to serve the Cashes with a foreclosure complaint in August 2025, but was unable to reach them.

Carragher said that he struggled to find the home, which was largely concealed by overgrown vegetation.

“I had to climb over the balcony to get to the door because the trees were overgrown. I couldn’t get into the pathway,” Carragher told the outlet.

No one answered when Carragher knocked on the front door. He said the property seemed to have been abandoned for at least a year, and neighbors attested that they hadn’t seen the residents “in years.”

A letter confirming the beginning of the foreclosure process was eventually mailed to a post office box at a UPS store in Avon, Connecticut — roughly 10 miles away from Burlington.

The Cashes never responded to the repeated correspondences, appeared in court, or sent an attorney in their stead.

A court approved the home for a foreclosure auction on March 23, a move that is now being called into question.

Christopher Thogmartin, the court-appointed attorney assigned to handle the foreclosure, said that the mystery casts doubt on “the validity of the foreclosure judgement,” according to a motion he filed on Tuesday.

Thogmartin recognized that the home was in an “obvious state of neglect,” but noted that two “Keep Out” and “Owner Occupied Premises” signs appeared to be brand new.

He also claimed that there were no attempts made to enter the home the day of the auction. It’s not immediately clear if the home’s interior was surveyed at any point before the auction.
