Taylor Swift surprise cameo steals the show at Travis Kelce’s New Heights live event in Los Angeles

The loudest cheer at Orpheum Theater on Monday during the live taping of the New Heights podcast wasn’t for Travis Kelce or his brother Jason. It wasn’t for the special guests either.

It was for someone who wasn’t even there in person.

Fans packed into the historic downtown Los Angeles venue for a special live taping of the famous podcast hosted by the Kelce brothers. They were expecting stories, jokes, and perhaps a surprise guest or two. What they got was a Taylor Swift cameo that proved that the world’s biggest pop star doesn’t need to be in the room in order to command it.

During a segment revisiting memorable moments from past episodes, the crowd erupted when producers rolled footage from a May discussion about Kelce’s notoriously picky eating habits. Jason Kelce and his wife, Kylie, had previously joked that Swift had helped expand Travis’ culinary horizons, prompting producer Brandon Borders — better known to listeners as “Intern Brandon” — to crack that Swift probably feeds him with airplane noises like a toddler.

The clip cut to Swift sitting next to her fiancé at what appeared to be a restaurant, playfully making airplane noises before delivering a bite of spaghetti straight into the Kansas City Chiefs star‘s mouth. Kelce responded by flashing his middle finger at the camera. The audience howled in laughter.

What they got was a Taylor Swift cameo that proved that the world’s biggest pop star doesn’t need to be in the room in order to command it.

Swift was not there in person as she remained in New York this week attending high-profile events. However, her likeness was displayed inside the theater as a reimagined Swift and Kelce as the stars of Pretty Woman, complete with the caption: “He walked off the field, into her life, and stole her heart.”

Page Six was the first to report that Swift and Kelce are expected to wed at Madison Square Garden in New York City on July 3. The pair was spotted together at a Cleveland Cavaliers game last month, and Swift sat courtside at Game 4 of the NBA Finals between the San Antonio Spurs and New York Knicks.

During the live taping of the show, Will Ferrell, NFL defensive end Myles Garrett, and soccer star Alex Morgan all made surprise guest appearances with the latter taking a penalty kick on-stage against Jason who made the diving save in goal. Travis also took a penalty kick and scored against his brother.

The episode of “New Heights Live in LA” will be available on YouTube, Prime Video, and wherever podcasts are available on Wednesday, June 17.

But it was Taylor Swift, who stole the show without even stepping on stage.

Mets rookie A.J. Ewing credits Juan Soto for recent offensive surge

CINCINNATI — A.J. Ewing studied his surroundings upon the Mets’ initial arrival to Great American Ball Park this week and found the whole situation “weird.”

The rookie outfielder grew up about 35 miles from here, in Springboro, Ohio, and attended a handful of Reds games in his youth. By his own admission, he wasn’t a huge fan of the team but took a special interest in watching Joey Votto perform.

“I watched some cool games here,” Ewing said Tuesday before the Mets faced the Reds. “I watched Homer Bailey throw a no-hitter when I was 8 years old. That is the one I remember pretty vividly.”

This week, it’s Ewing’s friends and family — a few dozen strong — in the house to watch him.

There is plenty to like. Ewing’s defensive ability and baserunning have been evident since his arrival from Triple-A Syracuse on May 12, but lately his offense has caught up with the rest of his game.

Ewing entered play with a .289/.340/.444 slash line in June that raised his OPS to .706. His most recent big game offensively was Sunday, when he homered as part of a three-hit afternoon in helping the Mets complete a series victory over the Braves. Over his last 12 games entering play, he had produced an .858 OPS.

“He takes really good at-bats,” Juan Soto said. “Most of the time he’s in 3-2 counts, he’s battling and he’s making pitchers sweat, that is all we can ask for.”

The 21-year-old is certainly seizing the opportunity presented after Luis Robert Jr. was placed on the injured list with lumbar spine disc herniation. That injury left the Mets with a need in center field that Ewing has filled.

Ewing has joined another rookie, Carson Benge, to help give the Mets a promising young outfield. Even Ewing isn’t sure he would have foreseen this in spring training when he was in camp with the major league time for the first time.

“I honestly have no idea what I would have thought,” Ewing said, when asked if he would have believed in March that he would be playing every day for the Mets. “I did think I was going to make an impact this year, but I was just blessed with opportunity, and I am taking it in.”

The Mets, who began the day 32-40 and last in the National League East, certainly appreciate Ewing’s contributions to a lineup that has searched for answers.

“We know that he’s going to control the strike zone and he’s got the ability to put the ball in play,” manager Carlos Mendoza said. “But I think just his ability to make adjustments; that is the biggest thing.”

Ewing credits his interactions with Soto for helping him develop.

“The way he prepares for games, it’s just ultrafocused, and it’s intense, and he takes that straight into the game — the intensity of his at-bats,” Ewing said.

Ewing’s competitive nature is evident to his teammates.

“He’s a very talented player and what I love about him is his ability to compete every day,” Bo Bichette said. “He shows up every day and competes his butt off in the box and he’s got everything he needs for sure to get better. It’s fun to see him getting better right now and through the rest of this year, but he’s going to kind of figure out a lot over the next couple of years.”

Soto, who is signed through 2039, could foresee a long and fruitful partnership in the outfield with Ewing and Benge.

“It’s going to be fun to watch,” Soto said. “It’s going to be impactful.”

Amanda Batula denies West Wilson’s ‘bulls–t’ claims about how romance started

Amanda Batula called “bulls–t” on West Wilson’s account of how their relationship started during “Summer House: The Aftermath.”

Batula sat down with Lindsay Hubbard one month after filming the Season 10 reunion and insisted Wilson “pursued” her — not the other way around.

Hubbard, however, said she heard otherwise during Tuesday’s bonus episode.

Amada Batula denied West Wilson’s account of how their relationship started during “Summer House: The Aftermath.” Bravo
Batula sat down with Lindsay Hubbard (seen above) and heard Wilson said she was “obsessed” and “had a crush” on him. Bravo

“He told Ciara [Miller] that you were the one obsessed with him and you were the one that has a crush on him and nothing physical had happened at that point,” Hubbard, 39, shared. “And that was March 6.”

A shocked Batula, 34, asked Hubbard, “He said I had a crush on him and I was obsessed with him?”

When Hubbard nodded her head, Batula laughed and said, “That’s such f–ing bulls–t. That’s funny.”

Batula (pictured above) replied, “That’s such f—ing bulls–t. That’s funny.” Bravo
Hubbard (seen above) told Batula that Wilson has “manipulated” her. Bravo

Batula claimed Wilson, 31, “was actively texting” her in group chats to hang out, but she always turned down the invites. She even showed Hubbard the messages.

In a text exchange from Nov. 9, Wilson asked Batula and her pal Katie DeLuca to come to a bar, but Batula responded, “You’re gonna hate me I’m not making it. I leave at 7 am tomorrow for a cast trip and go right to BravoCon.”

Wilson again asked Batula to hang out in a group chat on Nov. 22, but Batula replied that she was “laying low” at home with her mom and her dogs.

Batula explained Wilson (seen above) kept asking her to hang starting last fall, but she initially turned down the invites. Bravo
Batula (seen above in a promo for the bonus episode) said she started hanging out with Wilson more after her split from Kyle Cooke. Bravo

Batula told Hubbard she eventually went to Wilson’s apartment on Jan. 17 with other people.

“We were there, we had pizza. It was weird in my mind,” she admitted. “I was like, ‘I don’t know why we’re here. This is weird why we’re not out.’”

Batula said after announcing her split from husband Kyle Cooke that same month, she wanted to be more social, so she started hanging out more with Wilson and his friends.

Eventually, Batula said she started to wonder if she had real feelings for Wilson.

Batula (pictured above) explained that she eventually realized she might have feelings for her co-star. Bravo
Batula also admitted she was “selfish” for going for Wilson, who used to date her former BFF Ciara Miller. Bravo

When Hubbard asked Batula if Wilson “manipulated her,” Batula responded, “Those are not my words.”

“Well those are my words,” Hubbard said. “I’m happy to own them. Absolutely.”

Later in their conversation, Batula admitted she was “selfish” for pursuing a romance with Wilson despite him previously dating her former BFF Miller.

“It overwhelmed me, this feeling of just someone caring about me… a guy,” she shared.

Batula partly blamed her relationship with Wilson on her “awful” marriage to Cooke, 43.

“I made some poor decisions. I was in such a s–tty relationship,” she explained. “Lost myself completely. Didn’t recognize myself anymore. Was a shell of myself. I just wasn’t me anymore.”

“And going out, I felt young and in my 20s and fun again,” Batula continued. “And I think maybe I confused going out with West and falling in love with myself again with feelings.”

Batula said spending time with Wilson gave her “a euphoric feeling,” but made it hard for her to “think rationally or logically through any of that.”

The “Summer House” bonus episode, which filmed in the weeks after the April 23 reunion, also featured sit-downs between Wilson and Cooke, and Miller and Wilson’s ex Meija Moreno.

Wilson and Batula are on the outs with their co-stars for their secret relationship that they came clean about in March following weeks of speculation.

The couple have insisted their connection began in February and didn’t overlap with her marriage or any other relationships, but the rest of the castmates have poked several holes in their romance timeline.

Following the reunion, news broke that Wilson is not returning for Season 11, which starts filming July 4th weekend.

Wilson has not spoken out about being ousted from the show.

Batula, for her part, is a cast member on the spinoff “In the City” alongside Cooke and Hubbard. It’s unclear if she’ll return to “Summer House.”

Chilling details emerge in Santa Cruz County deaths of two friends swept into ocean

The two friends killed after being swept into the ocean in Santa Cruz County became trapped by a freak wave and pulled underwater by the punishing surf, authorities revealed — as a rescuer detailed the treacherous conditions that claimed their lives.

Harshita Nair, 21, and Mahial Sran, 20, both of Fremont, had made their way through a keyhole at Panther Beach in Bonny Doon to sunbathe last Wednesday when they were sealed off from escape by “sneaker wave” just before sunset, officials said.

Harshita Nair, 21, was a student at UC Berkeley. Linkedin

The rescue swimmer who brought Sran ashore told The California Post that he dove into the freezing, 6-foot shore break, along with his partner, to rescue the young woman. Nair had already been pulled from the waters off Yellow Bluff Beach.

“We go through that keyhole, and there’s waves crashing through it,” said the swimmer, who asked to remain anonymous. “And then me and my partner, we start searching for the second victim.”

The pair were the latest victims of the horrifying swells that just twenty-four hours earlier claimed the life of a small girl at Laguna Beach, the local sheriff-coroner’s office said.

Soon, the swimmer said, he saw Sran floating face down in her bathing suit, about 20 yards offshore.

“I’m able to get her up on my chest and keep her airway out of the water, and my partner is able to swim over and clip in with me, and we just swim her in together,” he explained.

Both women were alive when they were pulled from the water.

Nair died soon after the rescue, while Sran remained at a local hospital in critical condition until Saturday, when she passed away, according to the Santa Cruz Sheriff-Coroner.

Authorities have yet to officially determine their cause and manner of death.

Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to the beach after a witness called 911 just after 5 p.m. Wednesday, officials said.

Both women graduated in 2023 from Washington High School in Fremont.

The cove they visited is a popular sunbathing spot that was still being visited by beachgoers on Tuesday, though a warning sign had been installed advising of a “risk of becoming trapped.”

Cal Fire spokesman Michael Horn said about eight rescue swimmers entered the dangerous ocean water to try to rescue the victims.

He described Wednesday’s operation as the fifth water rescue that first responders performed over the past month along short stretch of Santa Cruz County coastline.

Rising tides and crashing waves trapped the two friends, who at first had been believed to be napping on the beach when they were swept away, Horn said.

“Their access back down the beach had been completely cut off by water and large surf,” he said.

The incident came a day after 5-year-old Amada Mia Brown of San Bernardino was swept into the ocean in Laguna Beach.

LIttle Amada died after being caught in the powerful surf of Treasure Island Beach.

Sran, who worked part-time as a cashier for the Micheal Kors Outlet at Great Mall in Milpitas, was also president of a public health club at her college, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Nair was an intern at the UC Berkeley student union, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Steve Parkinson, a friend and former coworker of Nair, said the Berkeley undergrad was a lover of the outdoors.

“She was just a real smart girl, outgoing girl,” Parkinson said. “Just a real all-around good person.”

Dangerous conditions along the California coast in recent days have driven by powerful southern swells that have slammed Pacific Ocean beaches, according to officials with the National Weather Service.

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office issued a warning for the area after responding to an increased number of water rescues.

“This beach is a really dangerous beach up north, and it has that keyhole spot that creates a really big hazard,” said the rescue swimmer who recovered Sran.  “Look at the tides and look at the swell. If you don’t know any of that stuff well, just stay out of the water.”

England’s Tino Livramento out of World Cup in injury blow

England took an injury blow just one day before its first match in the 2026 World Cup.

Defender Tino Livramento was ruled out of the tournament due to a muscle issue in his calf suffered during training on Sunday. Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah will replace the Newcastle defender.

Livramento has six international caps and made an appearance in all of England’s 2026 matches except for the most recent one against Costa Rica last week.

His ability to defend on the left and right flanks made him a valuable asset for England’s manager Thomas Tuchel, who led the 23-year-old for a few months during the 2021 season at Chelsea.

“We’re gutted for you, Tino, and wishing you a speedy recovery,” England said in a statement.

England is able to make a roster swap thanks to FIFA’s rule allowing “participating teams to replace an outfield player up to 24 hours before their opening fixture.”

Chalobah will miss England’s first game against Croatia, but will meet up with the team at its home base in Kansas City right after.

He has made just one appearance for England in 2025.

Chalobah was called up by Tuchel for the October qualifiers against Serbia and Albania, but never got in.

The defender also has experience under England’s manager, having played for him at Chelsea in 2021, making 31 appearances over 12 months and scoring four goals.

Chelsea’s last game was on May 24, but Chalobah has stayed in game shape in preparation for newly appointed manager Xabi Alonso’s first preseason in London.

The Chelsea academy graduate was chosen over proven commodities like Trent Alexander-Arnold, Fikayo Tomori, Lewis Hall and Harry Maguire.

Knicks NBA Finals run drove record betting volume at sportsbooks

The 2026 NBA Finals did massive numbers across the board.

Viewership for the games was as high as it has been since 1998, five years before ESPN and ABC began producing the Finals in 2003, Google searches reached peak levels, social clips broke records for the NBA and Knicks related merchandise has been flying off the shelves.

Sportsbooks saw a record amount of action at the window as well. DraftKings told the Post that five of the six most bet NBA games in the sportsbook’s history all came from this NBA Finals series with Game 5 at the top for most-bet NBA game ever at DraftKings.

BetMGM said it saw a 28.6 percent jump in the average handle wagered on each game from the 2025 Finals to 2026 Finals. The Knicks were such a massive draw at BetMGM, the team became a liability midway through the series.

“Before the NBA Finals began, the sportsbook was cheering for the Knicks because the Spurs were the biggest remaining liability on the futures market,” BetMGM Sports Trader Anthony Parenti said. “However, by the time New York took a 2-0 series lead, our liability had flipped.”

BetMGM took several big bets on the Knicks before the series.

One bettor wagered $20,000 wager on the Knicks to win the title at 22/1 odds during the first round and another bettor wagered a $200,000 on the Knicks to win the Finals before the series began. The combined payout on those wagers alone was $750,000.

BetMGM wasn’t the only sportsbook to see huge bets come in during the series. One bettor in Nevada placed a $500,000 wager at Caesars Sportsbook on the Knicks to win the Finals at -140 odds after they won Game 1 of the series. That timely wager won the bettor over $350,000.

Betting on the NBA?

The Knicks’ improbable run to snap their championship drought turned nearly everyone watching into a fan of the team, especially the savvy bettors who believed they could pull it off.

“Knicks winning the title ended up making a lot of our customers very happy,” Parenti said.

Backroom buttlift surgeon learns her fate for fatal injection of Kim Kardashian lookalike

A Florida woman convicted in the death of an OnlyFans model and Kim Kardashian lookalike has been sentenced to four years in prison for a deadly backroom butt lift gone wrong.

Vivian Alexandra Gomez, 53, was sentenced Tuesday after she was convicted of involuntary manslaughter by a San Mateo County, CA, jury in March.

Prosecutors say she performed several unlicensed silicone injections on Christina Ashten Gourkani — who died from complications in April 2023.

Gomez said won’t appeal the conviction and wants to “just go to prison and do her time,” according to the local Daily Journal, which also relayed the four-year sentence.

Her 44-year-old victim died of respiratory failure and a pulmonary embolism linked to the illegal Brazilian butt lift, which had been meant to make her look like Kardashian, prosecutors told the local Daily Post.

Gomez — who carried out the procedures in a California hotel room — was also convicted of practicing medicine without a license, a felony.

Bargain-basement fanny-fattening procedures are more dangerous than many aspiring divas realize, authorities warn.

Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Obeng told People magazine that such illicit ops have proved fatal on many occasions.

“Most of these illegal injections are made with silicone, and silicone or any foreign substance can migrate within the body, which can lead to infection and hardness over time, deforming parts of the body,” Obeng told the mag.

“And as with any injection, it can go into your bloodstream … And if it gets in the bloodstream, it can block the blood vessels and cause necrosis,” he said, referring to the death of vital cells.

Gourkani’s family detailed in an online fundraiser getting the “tragic phone call from a family member who was frantically screaming and crying hysterically” that “Ashten is dying.”

It was “a phone call that instantly shattered our world and will forever haunt our family,” said the fundraiser, which was closed after getting $6,600.

The viral Kim K lookalike “was such a caring and loving free spirit that always took the time to bring a smile to anyone’s face she crossed paths with,” it said.

“Ashten’s spirit is a light that will forever carry on to her loved ones around her and those that she has left behind.”

LA City Council orders review of race consideration in district mapping

LA City Hall bosses are scrambling to figure out the fallout from a major U.S. Supreme Court ruling that could change how political boundaries are drawn in the city.

In April, the Supreme Court issued a 6-3 ruling in Louisiana v. Callais that limited how race can be used when drawing voting districts.

The decision of the court case found that Louisiana was not required to create an additional congressional district designed to increase the voting power of minority communities.

Jonathan Alcorn For CA Post

The decision is expected to make it easier for Louisiana lawmakers to redraw congressional districts and could affect how voting maps are challenged across the country.

The ruling is widely expected to benefit Republicans in Louisiana and other states by giving lawmakers greater flexibility when drawing political boundaries.

On Tuesday, the Los Angeles City Council voted to order a series of reports examining whether the city can continue considering race as one factor when drawing City Council district boundaries.

The motion calls for reports on a range of election issues, including district boundaries, voter ID requirements, proof-of-citizenship measures. Andy Johnstone for NY Post

Los Angeles has long used race and demographics when creating council districts.

City leaders now want to know whether the Supreme Court’s ruling could affect those maps and make the city vulnerable for lawsuits.

The motion, introduced by Council President Marqueece Harris-Dawson and Councilmember Hugo Soto-Martinez, directs the City Attorney, Chief Legislative Analyst and City Administrative Officer to review the decision and report back to the council.

Council President Marqueece Harris-Dawson co-authored the motion directing city officials to examine the potential impact of the Supreme Court’s decision. Jonathan Alcorn for CA Post

City officials will also examine whether changes to the City Charter, the city’s governing document, may be needed.

The review goes beyond redistricting.

Council members are also looking to see if voter ID requirements, proof-of-citizenship requirements, voter fraud prosecutions and whether election integrity measures affect voter turnout and access to the ballot.

The request comes as the City Council is expected to consider a separate proposal that could eventually allow noncitizens to vote in Los Angeles city elections through a future Charter amendment.

The motion also directs city officials to study how election policies affect voter participation, ballot access and election administration.

The motion also asks to look at developing a strategy for working with other cities and organizations, including the League of California Cities, on state and federal voting-rights issues.

With Tuesday’s vote, city officials will begin preparing the requested reports. No deadline was included in the motion, meaning the findings may not be returned to the City Council for several weeks or even months.
