Two brothers were killed in a road accident after a speeding Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) bus allegedly rammed into their two-wheeler at Vadlapudi Bridge under the Duvvada police station limits in Visakhapatnam in the early hours of Wednesday (July 1, 2026).

The two were identified as P. Satish (29) and P. Girish (27), residents of Akkireddipalem.

According to the Duvvada police, the accident occurred at around 3.30 a.m. when an APSRTC bus travelling from Vijayawada to Vizianagaram allegedly hit the motorcycle because of the driver’s negligent driving.

The police said Satish was riding the motorcycle and his younger brother Girish was the pillion. The brothers were returning to their residence in Akkireddipalem from Anakapalli when the accident took place.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the motorcycle was being ridden on the correct side of the road. Despite this, the bus allegedly rammed into the two-wheeler, and both brothers suffered severe head injuries. The impact was so severe that they died on the spot before any medical help could reach them.

The Duvvada police registered a case. Investigation is on.
