BRS leader and former Choppadandi MLA Sunke Ravishankar has alleged that the short supply of urea, coupled with technical glitches in the mobile app-based urea booking system, has aggravated the woes of farmers during the ongoing kharif season.

Addressing farmers at a dharna in Gangadhara of Karimnagar district on Sunday, he accused both the State and Central governments of failing to ensure adequate stocks of urea and its timely supply to farmers. Despite the government claims of availability of adequate urea stocks, the ground reality points to a severe shortage of the fertilizer, he alleged. He demanded that the mobile-app based urea booking system be immediately abolished and timely supply of urea be ensured by reviving the previous distribution system. Earlier, farmers from different parts of Gangadhara mandal staged a dharna in Gangadhara in protest against alleged shortage of urea.
