A suspect struck several pedestrians with his vehicle in Los Angeles’ Culver City on Wednesday — before a police pursuit’s dramatic end injured an officer.

Officers say the suspect appeared to intentionally hit pedestrians while driving wildly, running red lights and driving on the side of the road.

Multiple cars damaged in a crash, including a white SUV and a white car with its hood up, next to a McDonald's sign.

The incident began around 7 p.m. with a call about a person carjacking a victim at knife point. Officers then found and chased the suspect from Culver City into LA after receiving a felony hit-and-run call, according to KTLA.

The suspect allegedly hit two people with their vehicle before the chase began, and later collided with four others as the suspect fled the police.

None of the pedestrians’ conditions are known. Multiple vehicles were also hit during the pursuit.

Police caught the suspect after they crashed in a McDonald’s drive-thru, injuring a police officer in the process. Their motivation for the possibly targeted attack is unknown.

“I don’t know what his motivation was or what the thought process was,” Atenza said. “What we do know is he was acting recklessly and dangerously and putting lives in jeopardy in our city.”

Police took the suspect to the hospital with minor injuries and is facing a laundry list of charges, including attempted murder. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
