On the concluding day of the two-day IAS, IPS, and IFS officers’ conference at the Secretariat on Tuesday, Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay held meetings with officials and distributed awards for best governance.

During the morning session, Mr. Vijay chaired the meeting with IPS officers and held discussions about law and order at the district and zonal levels. In the evening session, he held discussions with IAS and IFS officers.

According to an official release, Mr. Vijay instructed officials to accord priority to ensuring basic amenities such as the public distribution system, education, drinking water, healthcare, electricity, road connectivity, and bus services. He also directed them to focus on maintaining law and order, ensuring the safety of women and children, and environmental protection.

Later, the Chief Minister distributed awards to former Kanniyakumari Collector R. Alagumeena and former Avadi Police Commissioner K. Sankar for promptly resolving public grievances received under the Chief Minister’s Grievances Redressal Cell, and awards for Environmental Protection and Development (2024-25) to former Dindigul Collector M.N. Poongodi, former Tiruvallur Collector T. Prabhushankar, and former Pudukottai Collector I.S. Mercy Ramya.

He also distributed awards for effectively implementing the Tamil Official Language initiative (2023) to former Sivaganga Collector Asha Ajith, former Kanniyakumari Collector P.N. Sridhar, and awards to the best-performing districts for offering services to persons with disabilities to former Virudhunagar Collector V.P. Jayaseelan (2024), former Dharmapuri Collector K. Shanthi (2025), former Ranipet Collector J.U. Chandrakala, and former Thanjavur Collector P. Priyanka.

Mr. Vijay distributed awards for outstanding performance across all 20 health indicators to former Dindigul Collector S. Saravanan, Coimbatore Collector Pawan Kumar G. Giriyappanavar, and former Namakkal Collector Durga Moorthy. He also presented awards for excellence in crime control to former Villupuram Superintendent of Police (SP) V.V. Sai Praneeth, former Ariyalur SP Viswesh Balasubramaniam, former Krishnagiri SP P. Thangadurai, and former Kanniyakumari SP R. Stalin.

Ministers, Chief Secretary M. Sai Kumar and senior officials participated.
