The Assembly of Christian Trust Services (ACTS) on Sunday (June 28) slammed the alleged “unwarranted restrictions” imposed by the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment (FCRA) Rules, 2026.
The forum comprising representatives from different church denominations said it would plan a future course of action on the matter by joining hands with non-Christian charity organisations.
“We agree to the steps taken by the Central government to prevent misuse of foreign funds and to ensure transparency in such transactions. However, we strongly oppose the restrictions imposed in the name of the regulations,” ACTS general secretary George Sebastian and secretary Kuruvila Mathews said in a statement on Sunday.
The association, meanwhile, observed a special prayer day across churches on Sunday to highlight its concerns over the law. Mr. Sebastian inaugurated the State-level meet as part of the observance at the YMCA Hall here.
