Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to frame a comprehensive policy for allocation of lands to various mutts within the jurisdiction of the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Devasthanam at Yadagirigutta, stressing that ownership of such lands should remain with the temple. He asked officials to submit a detailed report within a week after a comprehensive review of the engineers’ committee report on the temple construction.

Reviewing the temple’s development at a high-level meeting held at the MCR HRD Bhodhi Pavilion, the Chief Minister said the land allocation model followed by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) should be studied and adapted where appropriate.

Suggesting that land for the Hare Krishna (Charitable) Foundation at Yadagirigutta be allotted at prevailing market rates, he also directed officials to prepare a list of organisations interested in constructing guest houses on the hill and to grant permissions in a phased manner.

Mr. Reddy called for a clear policy with well-defined regulations for allotting land to various communities. He also instructed officials to immediately release funds for land acquisition required for ongoing and proposed development works within the temple limits and emphasised the need to develop a tourism circuit in the region under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.

Rajya Sabha member Vem Narender Reddy, MPs Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy and K. Raghuvir Reddy, Government Whip Beerla Ilaiah, MLA Kumbam Anil Kumar Reddy, Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, Endowments Principal Secretary Shailaja Ramaiyer, Endowments Commissioner M.
