District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore on Thursday directed officials to ensure meticulous arrangements for the visit of the President of India Droupadi Murmu to Visakhapatnam on June 30 for the inaugural convocation of the Central Tribal University. Reviewing preparations with district officials and university representatives, he stressed on strict adherence to the protocol prescribed by the President’s Secretariat.
The Collector instructed all departments to work in close coordination and focus on venue readiness, security, transport, traffic management, medical services, sanitation, uninterrupted power supply and drinking water facilities. He said every arrangement should be completed on schedule in accordance with the programme approved by the President’s Secretariat.
The inaugural convocation of the Central Tribal University will be held at the V-Convention, in Visakhapatnam. Officials were asked to ensure all infrastructure and logistical arrangements at the venue are put in place well in advance. Medical teams, ambulances and Fire Services personnel have also been directed to remain on standby to handle any emergency.
Mr. Kishore said Joint Collector G. Vidyadhari has been appointed the nodal officer to coordinate with the State government, the President’s Secretariat and the district administration. Department-wise responsibilities have been assigned, and officials have been instructed to complete the entrusted works within the stipulated time, he added.
