Tuesday was quite the roller coaster of emotions for David Beckham.

While watching England’s 0-0 draw with Ghana at Gillette Stadium, the former English midfielder went from visibly excited to visibly frustrated as the game progressed.

Decked in a navy suit and tie, Beckham joined thousands of Three Lions supporters in Foxborough, Mass., and blew a kiss with a smile on his face while waving early on.

But as England began to disappoint, Beckham closed his eyes and put his head in his hands in frustration.

By the end of the game, Beckham was even scratching his forehead.

The frustration was for good reason, as England’s offense was stymied all afternoon after scoring four goals in a win over Croatia last week.

England had possession for 60 percent of the first half but only managed five attempts on goal. Right before the half ended, Harry Kane missed inside the box.

Thomas Tuchel, England’s manager, brought on attackers such as Marcus Rashford and Eberechi Eze to try and find the winner, but nobody could break through.

Overall, England had 18 shots to Ghana’s two, but just four of England’s shots were on target. England completed 583 passes while Ghana just completed 131.

“Frustrated a little bit with how they defended, how they set up,” England midfielder Jude Bellingham told reporters. “They got exactly out of the game what they played for. Couldn’t quite break them down, even with all corners, all the possession, all the shots on goal from distance.”

Even with the result, England is still in a solid spot to advance to the Round of 32 and will face Panama in its final group game Saturday.
