After becoming one of the year’s biggest theatrical hits, the Ryan Gosling-led sci-fi adventure has left plenty of moviegoers wondering whether there’s one last surprise waiting after the credits. While post-credits scenes have become increasingly common in blockbuster movies, Project Hail Mary takes a different approach.
The film doesn’t include a traditional post-credits scene. But if you were patient enough to stick around until literally the very end, you did catch one last little treat that’s sure to delight fans of the film’s intelligent, spider-like alien character Rocky.

No. Project Hail Mary doesn’t have a mid-credits or post-credits scene.
Once the movie reaches its heartfelt conclusion, that’s the end of Ryland Grace’s story. There aren’t any extra scenes teasing a sequel, revealing another mission, or setting up a larger franchise.
That said, the filmmakers did sneak in one final easter egg for audiences who stayed in their seats through the entire credits.
What Is The Project Hail Mary Post-Credits Easter Egg?
There’s no bonus scene waiting after the credits, but the movie does save one last callback for its closing moments.
When the MGM logo appears at the very end, the studio’s famous lion doesn’t let out its signature roar. Instead, viewers hear the lion “chitter” in Eridian — the musical language spoken by Rocky throughout the film.
It’s a brief audio gag, but a fitting sendoff for one of the movie’s biggest scene-stealers and a sweet wink to the friendship at the heart of Project Hail Mary.
Will There Be A Project Hail Mary 2?
Nothing has been announced just yet.
The film adapts Andy Weir‘s bestselling 2021 novel, which tells a complete story from beginning to end. While Project Hail Mary has been a major theatrical hit, Amazon MGM Studios hasn’t revealed any plans for a sequel.
Of course, Hollywood has surprised audiences before, but for now, fans shouldn’t expect another adventure with Ryland Grace anytime soon.

As for Prime Video, Project Hail Mary is expected to eventually stream there as part of a regular Amazon Prime subscription, but it isn’t included with Prime just yet.
