‘Enola Holmes 3’ Cast Guide: Meet The Cast of the New ‘Enola Holmes’ Movie

Millie Bobby Brown has another mystery to solve.

Enola Holmes 3 was released on Netflix today and this recent adaptation of the Sherlock Holmes-inspired book series will force Enola to find the answers to the most puzzling questions.

The third film in the trilogy follows Enola before she marries Lord Tewkesbury (Louis Partridge). However, Enola’s perfect day goes awry. Enola must postpone her wedding after learning her brother, Sherlock Holmes (Henry Cavill) is missing. Enola will have to work alongside Tewkesbury and and Dr. Watson (Himesh Patel) to find the truth behind her brother’s disappearance.

Although Brown is the face of the franchise, the other Enola Holmes cast and crew are equally impressive. The third film is directed by Philip Barantini and written by Jack Thorne (screenwriter of the first two films), the team behind the Netflix hit show Adolescence.

1. Brown is back as our favorite detective. After previously solving many cases in the first two films of series, the third film gives Enola her hardest challenge yet. Not only will she have to navigate the idea of getting married and becoming a lady, but will also have to navigate the most difficult and personal case yet: the kidnapping of her brother.

   Brown rose to fame with her role as Eleven on Netflix’s Stranger Things. Apart from the Enola Holmes franchise, Brown is known for her roles in the Godzilla films and other Netflix films like Damsel and The Electric State.

2. Partridge returns as Lord Tewkesbury, Enola’s love interest. In this film, Tewkesbury is maturing as he plans to create a future for himself and his Enola, his bride-to-be. But when Sherlock goes missing, Tewkesbury has no choice to help Enola find her missing brother, setting aside his long-awaited plans to marry her.

   Partridge is no stranger to Hollywood, starring in Apple TV’s Argylle and a supporting role in Alfonso Cuarón’s critically-acclaimed limited series Disclaimer.

3. After first being introduced in the Enola Holmes world during last film’s post-credit scene, Patel is back as Dr. Watson. Watson, the famous character from the Sherlock Holmes series, enters the third film as the informant of Sherlock’s disappearance. He and Enola will have to team up in order to discover the truth behind the kidnapping.

   In an exclusive interview with DECIDER, Patel revealed his version of Watson is distinct, saying, “It’s a real point of difference to any other version of Watson that’s come before.”

   Patel has proved himself as an actor to watch. He got his start playing the lead in The Beatles-themed romantic comedy Yesterday and will be seen in Christopher Nolan’s anticipated adaptation of The Odyssey.

4. Helena Bonham Carter knows how to immerse herself into a role. The actress has returned to the third installment as Eudoria Holmes, the mother of Enola and Sherlock. In the first film, Enola had to solve the disappearance of Eudoria. This time, Eudoria’s next move can’t be predicted as she comes back into Enola’s life when she least expects it.

   According to IMDb, Carter has 121 acting credits. The actress has cemented herself as a pop culture icon with her roles in Fight Club, the Harry Potter films, as Princess Margaret The Crown, and many more roles.

5. At the start of the third film, Cavill’s Sherlock expresses his concern over Enola giving up her name. As Holmes works on a case in Malta, he goes missing right before the wedding. Unlike his shadowing presence in the first two films, Sherlock spends most of the film absent. Throughout the film, Enola must apply the wisdom and advice she’s learned from her older brother as she tries to find him.

   Cavill is known for starring in many DC Universe films as Superman, as well as the star of the Netflix series The Witcher. Cavill will next be seen in Chad Stahelshki’s upcoming reboot of Highlander.

6. Every good mystery needs a villain. Duncan-Brester is back as Moriarty, the villain of Enola Holmes 2. We won’t say too much to spare you the spoilers, but Moriarty is back to get her revenge on Enola and Sherlock both.

   Duncan-Brewster is most known for her role as Dr. Liet Kynes in Dune: Part One. She has also starred in the hit Netflix show Sex Education and Ballerina, the John Wick spinoff.
