Consider us intrigued!
Hulu just dropped the first trailer for Furious, a new true-crime show starring Emmy Rossum. Without giving any of the trailer away — though you can check it out above —it looks like it will be a hit.
In honor of Rossum’s return to television since her supporting role in the Tom Holland-led limited series, The Crowded Room, we’re here to break down all the information behind the mysterious new series.
What is Furious About?
Furious follows new FBI agent Alice Black (Rossum) as she hunts down a female serial killer. According to Hulu, the two women “walk their own paths toward justice, and as their lives start to intertwine, the line between right and wrong begins to blur.”
At the beginning the trailer, we catch a glimpse of the serial killer tormenting a man who is clearly dying, as she menacingly tells him, “I don’t like the sound you’re making. But I love your smile.” Creepy! Later, we get to see Rossum approaching a crime scene and slowly finding more information about the serial killer and her three male victims.
The show was created and written by Elizabeth Meriwether, the creator of other hit shows for Hulu including The Dropout and Dying for Sex. Rossum is not only the lead of the series, but also serves as an executive producer.
Who Stars in Furious?
While Rossum is front and center, the supporting cast is no less than impressive. Playing Catherine, the serial killer, is Irish actress Lola Petticrew. Co-starring alongside the two leads are Scoot McNairy as a NYPD detective working with Alice Black, Quincy Tyler Bernstine as a veteran FBI agent, and Jake Lacy as a romance from Alice Black’s past.
When Does Furious Premiere on Hulu?
The first three episodes of Furious will be released on Hulu on July 27. The remaining 5 episodes will be released weekly, premiering every Monday until the finale on Aug. 31.
