The Kakinada district police have arrested social media influencer Joseph Bachalakuri, alias Prasna Raavan, in Hyderabad on June 30 in connection with his remarks against Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan at a ‘Dalit Christians’ meeting held in Eluru on June 28.
Kakinada Deputy Superintendent of Police P. Devraj Manish told The Hindu on Wednesday (July 1, 2026): “Mr. Joseph alias Raavan has been arrested in Hyderabad for his alleged remarks against Mr. Pawan Kalyan. He has been brought to Pithapuram, where he will be produced before a local court on Wednesday (July 1, 2026). The arrest has been made based on a written complaint by a Jana Sena party member.”
Jana Sena Party leader Bojja Kumar has reportedly lodged a written complaint with the Pithapuram police, seeking action against Mr. Joseph for his remarks against Mr. Pawan Kalyan.
A case under the Information Technology Act, 2000, has reportedly been registered against the accused. “We are investigating the case, and the sections are likely to be altered after the accused is produced before the local court,” said Mr. Devraj Manish.
