Andhra Pradesh IT and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh launched the shooting of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s 112th film ‘NBK112’ by sounding the clapperboard at the BITS Pilani grounds in Velagapudi, Amaravati, on Thursday (June 25, 2026).

Mr. Balakrishna’s daughter Tejaswini switched on the camera. Those present included Minister for Cinematography Kandula Durgesh, director Koratala Siva, producers Daggubati Suresh and Cherukuri Sudhakar, and MLAs Tenali Shravan Kumar and M.S. Raju.

Mr. Lokesh said he had never attended a film launch before, and thanked Mr. Balakrishna for the opportunity. He said efforts were under way to promote the film industry in Amaravati on a large scale, under the guidance of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Mr. Balakrishna.

He hoped that more films would be made in and around Amaravati, and that the infrastructure for it would be created.
