This week, no matter whether you’re looking for serious drama, fantasy, or romance, you’re in luck. A new season of House of the Dragon is arriving to HBO Max this weekend after a two-year wait, and Apple TV is dropping a new season of Colin Farrell’s dark detective show Sugar, too. Or get ready to laugh and cry with Netflix’s new original rom-com Voicemails for Isabelle, one of the many new releases the streamer is dropping this week.

Not sure which new releases to check out? Let us here at Decider help you figure out what to watch this weekend and where to stream it.

New Movies & Shows To Stream This Weekend: Voicemails for Isabelle, House of the Dragon, Sugar and more

This weekend marks the return of two great streaming series, and a highly anticipated movie; first up is House of the Dragon, the HBO series that’s singlehandedly keeping wig manufacturers in business in Hollywood. The third season premieres on Sunday night at 9 p.m. ET. Also returning this week is Sugar, the Apple TV detective series starring Colin Farrell as an L.A. private eye. For something more cozy, catch Voicemails for Isabelle on Netflix, a rom-com starring Zoey Deutch as a woman who meets her match (Nick Robinson) after inadvertently leaving him voicemails meant for her dead sister.

In Voicemails for Isabelle, Zoey Deutch stars as Jill, a young woman who deals with the death of her sister Isabelle by calling and leaving rambling messages on Isabelle’s voicemail. What Jill doesn’t realize is that a realtor named Wes (Nick Robinson) has been given Isabelle’s old number, so he’s been listening to Jill’s often rambling, funny, and sad messages meant for her sister, and they’re making him fall for her. The sweet rom-com co-stars Nick Offerman, Lukas Gage and Ciara Bravo and is available on Netflix now.

The Targaryens are so back, and they’re ready to fight fire with fire (like, in the dragon-breath sense). Season three of House of the Dragon premieres on HBO and HBO Max this Sunday night at 9 p.m. ET and it picks up where we last left off, as Rhaenyra Targaryen  (Emma D’Arcy) is planning an all-out war against her brother, Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney), so she can assume the throne that is rightfully hers. The new season consists of 8 episodes which will air weekly on Sundays through August 9.

New on Apple TV June 19: Sugar (Season 2)

Colin Farrell’s neo-noir detective series Sugar is back for Season 2 this week with an all-new mystery to solve. In the series, Farrell plays John Sugar, a private investigator tasked with searching for the older brother of an up-and-coming local boxer, while he continues his ongoing search for his own missing sister. The eight-episode second season co-stars Jin Ha, Tony Dalton, Laura Donnelly and Sasha Calle, along with special guest star Shea Whigham, and it premieres Friday, June 19. New episodes drop weekly, every Friday through August 7.
