The Issue: The unappealing and expensive Obama Presidential Center opens in Chicago.
Kirsten Fleming’s article was spot on regarding the truly ugly and outrageously expensive “Obamalisk” — the $850 million tribute to King Barack Obama (“Monument to left’s hypocrisy,” June 19).
It’s amazing how the “do as I say, not as I do” attitude is always present with the liberal Democrats.
Why are these presidential monuments necessary at all? Spend the money on the people of Chicago who need it. They don’t need a museum with pictures and Michelle’s dresses collecting dust. A cost for one of those dresses would pay the rent for a Chicago family.
It will be interesting to keep a running tally of how many visitors this monstrosity gets throughout the next few years.

So former President Barack Obama says that there are no kings in America, but has a castle built on the grounds of land that was set aside for Chicagoans and on the backs of small businesses who have yet to be paid. Who’s acting like a king now?

The Obama Presidential Center says it’s a library but the architecture screams, “Look at me.” Google Maps should label it as the “largest ego structure in the world.”

Obama officially opened his library — also known as the Death Star. In attendance were Bill and Hillary Clinton, Joe and Jill Biden, U2, Bruce Springsteen and Barack and Michelle. Looks like all the things in the museum weren’t the only ancient useless artifacts.

Now that we’ve gotten a Native American land acknowledgment for that huge concrete slab Obama built for himself in Chicago, when will we be getting ones for the land that his Martha’s Vineyard and Hawaii mansions sit on?

The Obama Presidential Library is a carbon copy of “The Tombs” city jail in Lower Manhattan. Could it be that Obama’s getting acclimated to some new digs in case President Trump lowers the boom on him for the Russia frame job?

The Issue: New York Democrats’ bill to erase the words “mother” and “father” from many statutes.
I am a proud father of two daughters and grandfather of five grandchildren. I guess I committed the sin of not being politically correct when I sent out good wishes on Father’s Day (“Surely, you gestate,” June 19).
I resent being referred to as a “non-gestating person” by the woke mob and their political followers. God help us! These people are insane.

As I sat down for my morning coffee and one of the three newspapers I read every day, I came across an article explaining a bill that will replace the words “mother” and “father” with “gestating parent” and “non-gestating parent” — just one example of why the city and state of New York are going to the dogs.
I have nothing against being woke or anything one wants to be — but no matter what Gov. Hochul signs, she will never eliminate “mom and dad.” By the way, happy late Father’s Day.

There are only two genders, male and female. You can use any word salad to change the definition of mother and father, but you cannot and will not ever change what God created. Stand up for the beautiful creation of a mother and a father.
Where is your morality, governor?
