One more arrested in Perumbavoor hybrid ganja case; four luxury cars seized

The Perumbavoor police have arrested one more person allegedly linked to the seizure of suspected hybrid ganja worth around ₹18 crore from a couple.

Aneesh Puthananithara, 30, a native of Manjalloor in Palakkad, was arrested on Monday a day after the police nabbed five youths in connection with the case. Eight people have been arrested in the case so far.

The police also seized four luxury vehicles allegedly used to transport the contraband from the airport. Two of the vehicles belong to the prime accused, Abu Thahir, while the other two were used by Harikrishnan Valiyaparambil, who has also been arrested.

The case pertains to the seizure of around 18 kg of suspected hybrid cannabis, valued at around ₹18 crore, from Ayush, 39, a native of Vypeen and wife Anika, 30, on Wednesday (June 24) during a raid conducted as part of Operation Toofan: The Narco Hunt.
