Pizzeria Sei — recently ranked the No. 2 pizza place in the USA (and the top spot for California) and an impressive No. 9 in the entire world — is set to open a new, larger location in West LA.
The beloved Tokyo-style Italian spot, known for its perfectly blistered Neapolitan-style pies and meticulous attention to taste buds, has built a devoted following since opening its original location in 2022. Now, West LA locals won’t have to brave the City of Angels’ snaking traffic for what many consider life-changing mouthfuls of dough and cheese.
According to Robb Report, the new space will give the team at Sei more elbow room to create their signature pies, which have earned international acclaim. Indeed, the pizzeria is officially recommended in the MICHELIN Guide California.
Pizzeria Sei is the passion project of South Korean-born, LA-raised Chef William Joo and his wife and business partner Jennifer So. Inspired by Japanese-style Neapolitan pizza, Joo has built a dedicated foodie following for pies meant to be eaten straight out of the oven.
The restaurant’s unique style blends traditional techniques from Naples, Italy with Japanese precision — think flawlessly charred and crimped crusts, high-quality seasonal toppings, a touch of smokiness and that perfect leopard-spotted char that pizza aficionado salivate over.
