Para athletes who secured government jobs through the Mega DSC-2025 sports quota were felicitated for their achievements during a programme held at Tagore Library in Vijayawada on Tuesday.
NTR District Collector G. Lakshmisha took part as the chief guest in the programme organised by the Para Sports Association of Andhra Pradesh, and extended his congratulations to the candidates. Para athletes from all 28 districts attended the event.
They expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Minister for Education, IT and Electronics Nara Lokesh, and Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) Chairman Ravi Naidu for their support. They said the State government’s decision to offer teaching jobs on the basis of sports merit, without conducting a written examination, serves as a model for the rest of the country.
