The movie about the weather during World War II, Pressure, is coming to digital platforms to buy and rent tomorrow, after just two-and-a-half weeks in theaters.

Directed by Anthony Maras, Pressure was co-written by Maras and David Haig, based on Haig’s 2014 play of the same name. The film stars Brendan Fraser as General Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1944—nine years before he became a U.S. President—and Andrew Scott as Captain James Stagg, who are faced with an impossible choice in the 72 hours leading up to D-Day. Do they launch the largest, riskiest invasion in history? Or do they play it say and risk losing World War II?

This harrowing film is based on the true story of D-Day, aka the day when the WWII Allied forces stormed the beach at Normandy on June 6, 1944, which resulted in thousands of lives lost, but eventually led to the Allied victory in the war. The Pressure cast also includes Kerry Condon, Chris Messina, and Damian Lewis. Pressure enjoyed good reviews and a solid box office earning—over $11.2 million worldwide—but there are just too many new movies coming out for the summer movie season, and so, Pressure is getting pushed to digital. That said, before you spend $20 to watch Pressure at home, you should know that we do expect to see Pressure streaming free on Peacock before the end of the year.

Where to watch the Pressure movie on streaming:

Pressure will be released on digital, on premium video-on-demand, on Tuesday, June 16 at 12 a.m. Eastern Time (which is also 9 p.m. Pacific Time on June 15). You’ll be able to buy or rent the film on digital platforms like Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Fandango At Home, and more. The film will cost $24.99 to buy a digital copy, or $19.99 to rent. If you rent the film, you will have 48 hours to watch it after hitting play.

The Pressure DVD, Blu-ray and 4K release date has not yet been announced.

Pressure is not yet streaming on any subscription streaming services, but we do expect to see Pressure streaming on Peacock soon, because Pressure is a Focus Features release, which is owned by NBCUniversal, and Peacock is the NBCUniversal streaming service.

When will the Pressure 2026 movie be streaming on Peacock?

You might see Pressure streaming on Peacock around late July 2026.

Pressure is not yet streaming on Peacock. Right now, the movie is only available to buy or rent on digital. That said, we do expect to see Pressure streaming on Peacock eventually, but we’re not sure when. Another Focus Features release, Song Sung Blue, was released on digital after about one month in theaters, and began streaming on Peacock about two months after opening in theaters.

If Pressure follows a similar release pattern, you might see the movie on digital by late June 2026, and streaming on Peacock around late July 2026. That said, other Focus Feature films have taken three months to stream on Peacock, so you may have to wait until late August.

Peacock currently offers two subscription types: Premium with ads and Premium Plus ad-free. Peacock Premium costs $10.99/month, while Premium Plus costs $16.99/month.

You can save a bit by subscribing to one of Peacock’s annual plans, which give you 12 months for the price of 10. These cost either $109.99 with ads or $169.99 without ads.

Peacock Premium Plus is also available to subscribe to via Prime Video with a seven-day free trial that you can’t get by subscribing directly on Peacock.

When will Pressure 2026 be streaming free on Amazon Prime Video?

You will eventually be able to stream Pressure on Prime Video, free with a Prime subscription, four months after the movie streams on Peacock. This is thanks to the deal between Universal and Amazon that sends Universal movies to Peacock for the first four months of the “Pay 1 window,” then to Amazon Prime Video for the next months of the window, followed by four more months on Peacock. If our prediction for when Pressure will be on Peacock is correct, then you should see Pressure streaming on Prime around late December 2026 or early January 2027.

If you aren’t a Prime Video subscriber yet, you can get started with a 30-day Amazon Prime free trial, including Prime perks like the Prime Video streaming service, free two-day shipping, exclusive deals, and more. After the free trial, Amazon Prime costs $14.99/month or $139/year.

All 18- to 24-year-olds, regardless of student status, are eligible for a discounted Prime for Young Adults membership as well, with age verification. After a six-month free trial, you’ll pay 50% off the standard Prime monthly price of $14.99/month — just $7.49/month — for up to six years and get all the perks.

This is all speculation. Universal has not had a consistent release strategy for home media. For now, you can buy or rent Pressure on Amazon Prime or other digital platforms.
