Commemorating the 96th birth anniversary of Carnatic music doyen Mangalampalli Bala Muralikrishna, a programme has been organised on July 6 to felicitate recipients of Sangeet Natak Akademi and Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for 2024 and 2025.
The programme is jointly organised by the Mangalampalli Satyanarayana Foundation and the Pendyala Nritya Bharathi Academy of Fine Arts and Culture in coordination with the Department of Culture and Language, government of Telangana, said Central Sangeet Natak Akademi member S.P. Bharathi.
She said the recipients hail from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, and are being recognised for their contributions to fine arts and culture. The programme will be held at Thyagaraya Gana Sabha, Chikkadpally.
Among others, Culture department director Enugu Narsimha Reddy and Mridangam exponent Yella Venkateshwara Rao will participate.
