It’s been quite a week for Steven Spielberg.
In a matter of days, the 79-year old inducted Taylor Swift into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, opened his latest film at No. 1 and is now heading to Chicago for the official opening of former Barack Obama’s new 19-acre presidential center on Chicago’s South Side.
Spielberg and his wife Cate Capshaw will not be the only A-listers jetting in. The multi-day affair leading into Juneteenth weekend is expected to draw a who’s who of Hollywood, and everyone from Stevie Wonder and Bruce Springsteen to Christina Aguilera, Bono, John Legend, The Roots, Common, Jennifer Hudson, Marc Anthony and more are expected to perform.
Obama, who now has his own profile in Hollywood with his Higher Ground production company, has a long friendship with Spielberg, who recently revealed on a podcast that the ex- president dropped by the set of his new movie, “Disclosure Day,” for a surprise visit.
We hear that one absent industry titan at the Obama event will be the CEO of TKO Group, Ari Emanuel, who’s the brother of former Obama chief of staff Rahm Emanuel. Emanuel was just at the UFC White House event on Sunday.
