Leaders of Navya Andhra Teachers Association (NTA) on Thursday expressed concern over the State government’s decision to initiate teacher work adjustment simultaneously with the implementation of the Presidential Orders–2025, under which the allocation of employees at the district, zonal, and multi-zonal levels has already commenced.

In a statement, the association’s State president K. Harikrishna and general secretary M. Srinivasa Rao said that the present work adjustment process is being carried out based on the existing district and divisional boundaries. However, once employee cadre allocations are completed under the Presidential Orders–2025, the district-wise distribution of teachers and the surplus or shortage of teaching staff are likely to change. In this context, the association believes that carrying out large-scale work adjustments in advance may result in teachers being transferred more than once within a short period.

They said that such moves could affect teachers’ personal, family and professional lives and negatively impact academic planning and smooth functioning of schools. Furthermore, they warned that if fresh work adjustments become necessary after the cadre allocation process is completed, it could increase administrative burden, grievances and disputes.

The NTA members urged the government to first complete the employee cadre allocation process in accordance with the Presidential Orders–2025 and thereafter undertake teacher work adjustments based on the final cadre strength and actual staffing requirements.

They added that if the government considers immediate work adjustments unavoidable in the interest of students’ education, such adjustments should be restricted to the mandal or Assembly constituency level. “This would help meet the immediate staffing needs of schools while preventing unnecessary repeated transfers in the future,” they said.

The association members urged the government to take an appropriate decision by balancing three important considerations –the welfare of teachers, educational interests of students and administrative efficiency.
