Eric Adams’ former top adviser and a number of ex-NYPD were raided by the feds on Wednesday morning as part of multiple separate corruption probes into the department and the Brooklyn power broker, Frank Carone.
Carone had his home searched in the early morning operation and was arrested in an alleged bribery scheme as part of an Eastern District investigation, according to police sources.
Separately, the feds hit the home of former Chief of Department Jeffrey Maddrey, ex- Assistant Chief James McCarthy and the once top police spokesperson Tarik Sheppard, according to the sources.
Those cases stemmed from the NYPD probe into Maddrey’s alleged misappropriation of funds and the FBI was called in to assist in the investigation.
Sources say cops are looking at potential bribery and other official misconduct of the former high-ranking police officials.
The feds also arrested others in the Carone case, however, its was unclear how many others and who were taken away in cuffs, sources said.
