Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president and MLC B. Mahesh Kumar Goud on Monday called for efforts to dispel misconceptions among the public regarding the ongoing special revision of electoral rolls.
Addressing an awareness programme for Booth Level Agents (BLAs) on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list, organised by the TPCC at Nandipet mandal in the Armur Assembly constituency of Nizamabad district, Mr. Goud urged BLAs to discharge their responsibilities diligently to ensure that all eligible voters are enrolled and ineligible names are removed during the revision process. He stressed the need to inform the public clearly about the Election Commission’s guidelines to prevent confusion.
Stating that the right to vote is fundamental in a democracy, he called upon party cadres and BLAs to work actively at the grassroots to ensure that no eligible person is left out of the electoral rolls. He emphasised coordinated efforts among party workers to make the revision exercise effective by reaching out to people with accurate information.
Government adviser P. Sudarshan Reddy, MLA R. Bhupathi Reddy, Mayor Umarani, DCC president K. Nagesh Reddy and others were present.
