Cyberabad Traffic Police have announced diversions at IIIT Junction in view of the ongoing construction of a multi-level flyover and underpass. The restrictions will come into effect from July 1 and are expected to remain in force for 90 days to facilitate the next phase of construction. The overall project is expected to continue for about a year or until completion.
As part of the arrangements, the stretch from DLF Gate No. 1 to the Gachibowli Traffic Police Station will remain closed for three months. The road will be partially reopened in phases depending on the progress of the construction and availability of space.
Traffic travelling from Radisson Hotel towards IIIT Junction via DLF will be allowed only up to DLF Gate No. 1 and will not be permitted beyond that point. Motorists have been advised to proceed via Gachibowli Junction, take a right towards Indiranagar and then continue to IIIT Junction. Employees of the TCS campus using the Non-SEZ (CMC) gate will continue to have access through the regular gate.
Vehicles approaching from the Lingampally side towards DLF Road will be diverted at the Gachibowli Traffic Police Station through IIIT Junction, Gachibowli Junction and Radisson Junction to reach DLF Road.
Cyberabad Police said commuters should expect traffic congestion in and around IIIT Junction during the construction period. Regular commuters, particularly IT employees, have been advised to use alternative routes and plan their journey in advance.
