Two killed, nine injured as Mysuru-bound KSRTC bus topples in Chamarajanagar

Two persons were killed and nine others were injured when a KSRTC bus plying between M.M. Hills and Mysuru toppled at Maduvanahalli in Kollegal taluk of Chamarajanagar district on Monday.

Deputy Commissioner of Chamarajanagar Shreeroopa said the deceased included a man and a woman.

According to preliminary information, the deceased woman was an anganwadi worker, who had been deputed as Booth Level Officer (BLO), and was returning to Mysuru.

The bus was carrying around 60 passengers. The vehicle lost control due to a tyre burst. Except for the nine passengers who suffered grievous injuries, the rest escaped with minor injuries.

Out of the nine injured, six had been admitted to the Chamarajanagar Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS) while three others with bleeding noses had been shifted to hospitals in Mysuru.
