Hubballi Electricity Supply Company (HESCOM) has requested electricity consumers to cooperate with the company as door-to-door verification of Gruha Jyothi scheme beneficiaries was launched on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, Managing Director of HESCOM Vaishali M.L. visited various residential localities to oversee the verification process by the staff and directed the staff to systematically carry out the process.
In a press release issued here, HESCOM has said that for the verification of the scheme beneficiaries, HESCOM metre readers will visit doorsteps of consumers to verify documents of beneficiaries. They will subsequently complete the process through declaration on mobile application.
The electricity supply company has appealed to electricity consumers to keep their Aadhaar cards, passport size photographs, electoral photo identity cards (EPIC), PAN cards, rent agreements (if applicable), ration cards and caste certificates ready to be produced before the staff conducting the verification.
The HESCOM staff will collect information from house owners and tenants and upload them on the Seva Sindhu portal.
The public, if they have either BPL or APL card and the absence of both, should inform the staff about it, the release said.
HESCOM has also made it clear that verification of the scheme beneficiaries can be done only through the metre readers or HESCOM staff and has requested the general public to extend full cooperation to them to complete the survey.
