Horrific video captured the moment a 13-year-old boy riding on the back of a motorized scooter in Queens was killed after his teen pal plowed into an open car door – hurling both boys beneath a passing truck.
Heart-stopping footage obtained by The Post shows a Honda Pilot parking in front of a supermarket on 162nd Street in Flushing around 11:36 a.m. Monday when, about 30 seconds later, the scooter, driven by another 13-year-old boy, raced by and slammed into the driver’s side door that had just been flung open.
The devastating impact launched both boys into a passing delivery truck and under the rear wheels.
The truck rolled over the scooter as the young victim lay motionless on the pavement and his friend pinned under the vehicle, the video showed.
“Ay, No!” one horrified witness screamed as another bystander sprinted over to perform chest compressions on the youngster, shouting for someone to call 911. Moments later, the teen driver crawled out from beneath the truck, pulled at his friend and staggered away in shock.
“As the door hit the scooter the truck drove by as the scooter lost control,” one local business owner said.
“The speed of the moped was faster than the truck. The real murderer was the one who gave the kids the moped. They’re both 13. You know they didn’t buy that. They don’t have licenses.”
Police said both teens were taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, where the passenger succumbed to his injuries and his friend was listed in stable condition.
The witness also pointed the finger at the SUV driver for flinging open the door seconds before the boys sped past – but insisted the person behind the wheel of the truck was “so innocent.”
“It is tough, but we are adults. We should look before we open the door in a tight traffic situation like this. It is summertime and there is no school.”
The truck driver, who had been circling the block in search of parking for a delivery, remained at the scene as police arrived.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing, according to police.
