Nobody should be judged for trying. But during Friday night’s 4-1 U.S. men’s soccer World Cup victory against Paraguay, a fan made the worst streaking attempt in the history of sports.

During a livestream from the account @ilysalt, a fan was seen pacing back and forth on top of the barricade between the field and the seats at SoFi Stadium, making a poor streaking attempt during the match.

As the USMNT was leading 3-1, around the 97-minute mark of the match, the fan was trying to find the perfect spot to jump through as a mob of security guards awaited him at the bottom of the barricade.

A roughly 25-second standoff between the fan and the security guard finally reached its end as the fan leaped from the barricade onto the ground. The fan immediately plummeted onto the pitch, and the security team quickly got on top of him to ensure he wouldn’t go anywhere, making a long, dramatic moment seem almost anticlimactic.

With the standoff concluded, the streamers recording the event were heard in the background saying, “You F—— idiot,” multiple times, followed by another fan saying “You dumb.”

With fans mocking him from the stands, another fan was quick to pour out the rest of his beer on him and the security guards.

Another security guard immediately looked in the crowd, as they were trying to figure out who had poured the beer on the field. The security guard looked in the direction of the streamers, but they responded, saying, “It’s not us. We’re streamers.”
