A.P. Gnana Prakash assumed charge as the Vice-Chancellor of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) on Thursday.

He succeeds Sharanappa V. Halse, whose tenure as Vice-Chancellor came to an end. The Chancellor and Governor of Karnataka appointed Prof. Gnana Prakash, a senior faculty member from the Department of Studies in Physics at the University of Mysore, to the post.

Prof. Gnana Prakash took charge at the university headquarters here on Thursday evening in the presence of KSOU officials and staff members.

He previously served as the Registrar (Evaluation) at the University of Mysore.
