Those pesky minions are back at it again in Minions & Monsters, the new Minions movie opening in movie theaters nationwide tomorrow. Banana, bapple, and all that jazz.
Directed by Pierre Coffin—who also co-directed and the first four Despicable Me films, and has been the primary voice of the Minions in the films—with a screenplay written by Coffin and Brian Lynch, Minions & Monsters is the third film in the Minions prequel series, and the seventh movie in the overall Despicable Me franchise.
Minions & Monsters is a period piece, taking place in 1920, nearly 50 years prior to the events of the 2015 film Minions. Apparently, there were Minions around for the golden era of Old Hollywood, and they were determined to make their very own monster movie. Lucky for the minions, film was silent back then, so they didn’t need to worry about their grating Minion voices turning audiences away.
With Coffin as the voice of the Minions, the Minions and Monsters voice cast also includes Trey Parker, Allison Janney, Christoph Waltz, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeff Bridges, Zoey Deutch, Bobby Moynihan, and Phil LaMarr. Minions and Monsters will only available to watch in a movie theater, when it opens in the U.S. on Wednesday, April 1, in theaters nationwide. You can find a showing near you via Fandango. Minions and Monsters is not yet available to watch online or on streaming.
Is the Minions and Monsters movie streaming on Netflix or Amazon Prime Video?
Minions and Monsters is not streaming on Netflix or Prime Video right now.
You will be able to purchase Minions and Monsters on Prime Video eventually, when the movie becomes available to buy and rent on digital.
Minions and Monsters will likely stream on Netflix eventually, four months after it streams on Peacock, as part of Universal’s deal with Netflix that sends Universal animated movies, including DreamWorks and Illumination, to Netflix for a limited period. If our prediction for the Peacock release Minions and Monsters is correct, then you might see Minions and Monsters streaming on Netflix around April 2027.
But the first place that Minions and Monsters will be streaming on a subscription-based streamer will be Peacock, due to the fact that the film is a Universal release. Almost all Universal movies go to the NBCUniversal streaming platform, Peacock.
Peacock currently offers two subscription types: Premium with ads and Premium Plus ad-free. Peacock Premium costs $10.99/month, while Premium Plus costs $16.99/month.
You can save a bit by subscribing to one of Peacock’s annual plans, which give you 12 months for the price of 10. These cost either $109.99 with ads or $169.99 without ads.

Is the Minions and Monsters movie streaming on Disney+?
Minions and Monsters not streaming on Disney+, and will likely never be streaming on Disney+, because it is not a Disney movie. Not all animated movies are Disney! If you want to watch Minions and Monsters on streaming, you’ll have to wait for the film to stream on Peacock, followed by it streaming on Prime Video.
Is the Minions and Monsters movie streaming on Peacock?
Minions and Monsters streaming release date on Peacock has not yet been announced, but you will likely see the Minions and Monsters streaming on Peacock later this year. Another Universal release, Reminders of Him, will begin streaming on Peacock about four months after the movie opened in theaters.
If Minions and Monsters follows a similar release pattern, you might see the movie on digital in about a month, around early August 2026, and streaming on Peacock around early November 2026.
This is all speculation. Universal has not had a consistent digital release strategy. If you want to watch the Minions and Monsters movie right away, your best bet is to catch the movie in theaters.
