It’s been a week since Patricia (Kate O’Flynn) and Wyck (Stephen Root) helped Widow’s Bay‘s residents ride out a terrifying storm, Dale (Jeff Hiller) learned that the island was a death trap, Evan (Kingston Rumi Southwick) witnessed a sacrifice, and Bechir (Kevin Carroll) and Tom (Matthew Rhys) tested their moral compasses at Ruth’s (K Callan) house. And to put it simply, we need more!
Shortly after viewers learned that each church bell chime represents a human sacrifice demanded by the island, Kenny the custodian (Michael Malvesti) died and the storm cleared. The unexpected calm signified that he was the final life demanded by the nine church bells that rang out in Episode 2. But right before Season 1 concluded, the church bell sounded eight more times, meaning eight more people will have to die in order to protect the island and Richard Warren’s last living descendants.
So will Tom honor the pact like Warren? Will Bechir and his wife make it off the island before she gives birth? And will Ruth tell anyone else about the affair she had, which resulted in a secret extension of Richard Warren’s bloodline? We’re eager for answers to our burning questions and more episodes of Katie Dippold’s acclaimed Apple TV horror-comedy. The question is, when will we get them?!

Will There Be A Widow’s Bay Season 2 On Apple TV?

Ahead of Widow’s Bay’s Season 1 finale, Apple TV announced an early Season 2 renewal, which came as no surprise, considering the series regularly ascends to the #1 spot on Apple TV’s Top TV Shows list, is beloved and acclaimed by fans and critics alike, and maintains an impressive 97% Rotten Tomatoes score with 76 professional reviews.
“From the moment audiences arrived in Widow’s Bay, they’ve been hooked on every eerie mystery, unexpected laughs, and cursed secret that Katie, Hiro, Matthew, and the entire team have created,” said Matt Cherniss, Apple TV’s head of programming said in a press release. “It’s become one of those shows everyone’s talking about, and we’re thrilled to see audiences continue to embrace it. We can’t wait to return for another season.”

Widow’s Bay Season 2 Premiere Date: When Does Widow’s Bay Return With New Episodes On Apple TV?
An official Widow’s Bay Season 2 premiere date has yet to be announced, but in an ideal world we’d have new episodes in 2027 vs 2028. We’ll likely get a better sense of how far into the planning and writing stages the team is during finale post-mort interviews with Dippold, but because the series films in Massachusetts, weather will be a production concern in late 2026 and early 2027. Season 1 reportedly filmed in May 2025 and June 2025, so we’ll have to wait and see how timing shakes out to see if a late 2027 release is in the cards. Stay tuned for more updates!
