Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, on Thursday (June 25, 2026), flagged off over 300 new buses procured by various State transport corporations at a total cost of ₹127 crore.
The new buses include 164 diesel buses and 136 CNG buses.
Transport Minister A. Vijay Tamilan Parthiban, Chief Secretary M. Sai Kumar and senior officials were present on the occasion.
Later, Mr. Vijay also took a ride on a Perambur-bound bus after tendering exact change for the ticket, officials said.
