Three people, including a toddler, died, and one person was injured in a road mishap on the Vijayawada bypass road near B.B. Gudem on Tuesday (June 30, 2026). The accident occurred when a container truck collided with a car and then struck an oil tanker, which subsequently hit another two-wheeler.
Two persons traveling in a car and a two-wheeler rider died on the spot. The deceased were identified as Jayamangala Naga Durga (28) and her son Naga Sai (3), both natives of Penchikalamarru village in the Kaikalur mandal of Eluru district. The bike rider was identified as D. Venkateswara Rao (51) of Singh Nagar in Vijayawada.
According to witness accounts, the container driver lost control after a tire punctured, causing the vehicle to hit the car and later collide with the tanker.
Naga Durga’s husband, Vijaya Kumar, suffered injuries in the incident. The Gannavaram police have registered a case.
