Love Island USA‘s Casa Amor week continues, and the girls finally got some new eye candy. After a devastating start to their Casa Amor experience, the ladies received a much needed pick-me-up in the form of 12 new guys.
You read that right, 12 new guys! That’s double the number of girls on the island, and double the number of guys who left for their own Casa adventures. The Casa boys arrived by yacht, sailing past the other villa with the OG guys watching.
Unfortunately, not all 12 of the new bombshells got to stay. After a massive dance party and some chemistry tests, 6 guys remain to get to know the OG girls. Carl Lee Schmidt is perhaps the perfect Casa boy. The 28-year-old fitness instructor immediately gained the attention of fans by being respectful. He is originally from Denver, Colorado, but is also well traveled. His Instagram has photos from his time in Vietnam, Nantucket, and more. During his conversation with the girls, Schmidt also revealed that he is 6’4, his entire family played volleyball, and he likes tall girls. He’s clearly a perfect match for a certain islander who is tall, kind, and an ex-volleyball player.
Who is Carl coupled up with on ‘Love Island USA’?
Well, there is certainly no element of surprise with this reveal! Carl is currently coupled up with Aniya Harvey. After watching her original couple, KC Chandler, act like a kid in a candy store with the new Casa girls arrived, Aniya naturally felt defeated. It seemed as though she and KC were going through the same cycle every week. In fact, the two had been coupled up by default putting an additional strain on their relationship.
Not only did Carl show interest in Aniya first; he also pulled her for a chat. One moment that had fans and Aniya swooning? Their conversation where Carl showed off his multilingual skills. Aniya confessed she only spoke one, and he immediately offered to teach her either Chinese or Japanese. During the language lesson, the two exchanged shy smiles and even a kiss! But will she and Carl make it past the Casa Amor experience?
What Does Carl’s Ex Have To Say About Him?
People have immediately hopped on the Carl and Aniya train, comparing them to The Princess and the Frog‘s Tiana and Naveen and Cinderella and Prince Charming. But before we get our hopes up, can Carl actually be Aniya’s prince? In a recently posted video, Carl’s ex girlfriend said he was respectful and not toxic. It is rare someone from the Islander’s past comes out to defend them, so it possible that Carl may just be an all around good guy.
It is still up in the air on whether Carl and Aniya will last, but fans believe they have a pretty good shot. In a preview of episode 19, Aniya is shown saying that talking with Carl feels different than talking with KC. The question is though… is it a good different or a bad different?
