A teenager gunned down two people and injured a juvenile in a horrific library shooting in Northern California late Monday.
Police received reports of an active shooter at a Butte County library just past 5 p.m., and rushed to the scene after hearing a 911 call filled with screams and gunfire.
Officials arrived and nabbed the shooter, 18-year-old Chico resident Bradley Scott Sayer, after he tried to leave out of the back door.
“The incident tonight was obviously very sad and very traumatic for a lot of people — very traumatic for our community,” Chief Billy Aldridge of the Chico Police Department said during a news conference on Monday night.
Cops said he did not appear to know his victims and was motivated to commit a “Columbine High School massacre type of shooting.”
